HOMILÍA
El miércoles pasado, con ese rito simbólico de la imposición de la ceniza, comenzamos este tiempo de conversión y de renovación personal y comunitaria que es la Cuaresma. Lo primero que tenemos que hacer es caer en la cuenta de que necesitamos convertirnos porque el pecado forma parte de nuestra vida. Que necesitamos volvernos a Dios y a los demás, porque el egoísmo nos puede, porque la pereza y la comodidad son fuertes en nosotros. Si tomamos conciencia de nuestra realidad estaremos en las mejores condiciones para cambiar.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del libro del Génesis y nos ha contado la historia del primer pecado, de la primera ruptura de la amistad entre nosotros y Dios. A aquel primer pecado han sucedido otros. También los nuestros. Bueno es que recuperemos la amistad perdida con Dios y con el prójimo a través del sacramento del perdón y de la reconciliación. Acerquémonos a este sacramento con la confianza y la seguridad de ser perdonados y hagamos también un firme propósito de la enmienda que nos impida caer de nuevo.
La segunda lectura, de San Pablo a los Romanos, nos ha descrito las distintas actitudes que rodearon a Adán y a Cristo. El primer hombre, con su pecado, nos separó de Dios. Cristo, en cambio, nos reconcilio de nuevo con el Padre. Acerquémonos en este tiempo cuaresmal a Cristo. Leamos el evangelio, hablemos con él como un amigo lo hace con su amigo. Pidamos su ayuda para superar el mal que nos rodea.
El evangelio de San Mateo nos ha hablado de las tentaciones de Jesús en el desierto. Tentaciones a las que también estamos expuestos todos y cada uno de nosotros. La tentación no es el pecado pero nos inclina a él. Recemos muchas veces el Padre Nuestro en el que, entre otras, pedimos “que no nos deje caer en la tentación y que nos libre del mal”.
