HOMILÍA
Terminadas ya las grandes fiestas y celebraciones de la Navidad y de la Epifanía, volvemos a los domingos del llamado “Tiempo Ordinario” en los que tendremos la oportunidad de seguir los pasos de Jesús, de escuchar sus enseñanzas, de presenciar sus milagros, de verle relacionarse con la gente de toda edad y condición.
Hoy hemos escuchado las lecturas propias del segundo domingo del tiempo ordinario. Un domingo que nos trae los ecos de la Jornada y de la Colecta de la Infancia Misionera. Esa Jornada que todos vivimos de niños y que hoy estamos llamados a dar a conocer a los más pequeños de nuestras comunidades. Seremos misioneros de adultos si, de niños, lo hemos aprendido de labios de nuestros mayores.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del profeta Isaías. Allí hemos escuchado una frase que nos llama poderosamente la atención y que nos implica y nos compromete: “Te hago luz de las naciones para que mi salvación alcance hasta el confín de la tierra”. La fe que decimos tener y profesar no la podemos guardar para nosotros solos. La tenemos que difundir con nuestra palabra pero, sobre todo, con nuestra vida. No seremos luz de “todas” las naciones, es verdad, pero sí lo podemos ser de ese pequeño grupo con el que nos relacionamos cada día.
La segunda lectura, de san Pablo a los Corintios, ha recogido las primeras palabras de esa carta en la que el apóstol les llama a los cristianos de esa ciudad “santos”. Santos, no tanto porque ya lo sean, sino porque ese ha de ser su destino. También de nosotros se espera que busquemos y nos esforcemos por alcanzar la santidad.
El relato del evangelio de Juan ha recogido las palabras del Bautista que recuerda los hechos ocurridos en el Bautismo de Jesús. Como Juan, nosotros hoy, estamos invitados a ser testigos de este Jesús.
