HOMILÍA
Los textos evangélicos de estos últimos domingos de Cuaresma fueron utilizados por la Iglesia primitiva como catequesis para preparar a los que habían pedido recibir el Bautismo. El relato de la Samaritana presentaba a Jesús como el Agua Viva. El del Ciego de Nacimiento enseñaba que Jesús era la Luz. Y hoy, el episodio de la resurrección de Lázaro, nos muestra, a este mismo Jesús, como la Vida con mayúsculas. ¡Ojala que también para nosotros estos textos nos ayuden a ver a Jesús de la misma manera en vísperas de celebrar la Semana Santa!
La primera lectura, tomada del profeta Ezequiel, nos hablaba de huesos que yacen en lo profundo de la tierra sin ninguna esperanza de volver a la vida. Esos huesos eran un símbolo del pueblo de Israel que, desterrado lejos de la patria, se considera un pueblo muerto sin esperanza de volver a ser lo que un día fue. Pero, las palabras del Señor, señalan a un futuro en el que lo imposible se hace posible, en el que van a volver a la patria y a renacer como pueblo. Aunque nosotros, alguna vez, nos lleguemos a sentir como ellos, sabemos que Dios nos puede reavivar a través del perdón y de la misericordia.
La segunda lectura, de San Pablo a los Romanos, nos recuerda que, así como Jesús volvió a la vida para nunca más volver a morir, también nosotros estamos llamados a seguir sus pasos. La muerte no será para nosotros el final del camino. Tras ella, están los brazos de un Dios que nos quiere estrechar, con inmenso amor, entre sus brazos.
El relato del Evangelio de Juan nos ha dicho con toda claridad lo que tantas veces recordamos en los funerales: Que Jesús es la Resurrección y la Vida y que tiene el poder para que ninguno de nosotros caiga en el vacío y en la nada. Que estas palabras nos llenen de una inmensa confianza. En la vida y en la muerte nos sabemos cogidos de su mano.
