HOMILÍA
Habiendo dejado atrás el tiempo de Navidad y, celebrada la fiesta del Bautismo de Jesús, hoy hemos escuchado las lecturas propias del segundo domingo del tiempo ordinario. Un tiempo que nos va a dar la oportunidad de conocer al Jesús de cada día, al de los milagros y las parábolas, al del encuentro con la gente para llevarles al convencimiento de que eran profundamente amados por un Dios que es Padre. Un Padre que quiere que nos amemos entre nosotros, como signo visible de lo que le amamos a él. El evangelista San Mateo nos mostrará su particular visión de Jesús y de la Buena Noticia que nos trajo.
En la primera lectura es bueno que nos fijemos en esa frase que el profeta Isaías ponía en boca de Dios: “Te hago luz de las naciones para que mi salvación alcance hasta el confín de la tierra.” Misión que cumplió el misterioso personaje que respondía al nombre de “Siervo de Yavé” y, sobre todo, Jesús. Pero también, a cada uno de nosotros, el Padre Dios nos encarga esa misión: “Ser luz para que la salvación llegue a todos”. Ser luz para que mi familia, mis amigos, la gente que me conoce y con la que me relaciono, se acerquen a Dios, le invoquen como Padre y acepten su salvación. No lo olvidemos: estamos llamados a ser luz con nuestras palabras y nuestros hechos.
En la segunda lectura, que ha recogido las primeras palabras de la carta a los corintios, también hay una frase que no puede pasar inadvertida. Decía San Pablo de sí mismo: “Llamado a ser apóstol de Cristo Jesús.” También nosotros estamos llamados a ser apóstoles de Jesucristo, enviados suyos. No, quizás, a tierras lejanas, pero sí allí en ese lugar donde vivimos, trabajamos, luchamos y amamos. Todo cristiano es un apóstol, es un misionero, es un precursor de Jesús. En el relato del evangelio hemos escuchado la voz de Juan Bautista que narraba el acontecimiento del Bautismo de Jesús que celebramos el domingo pasado. Un bautismo que ponía en marcha su misión.
No podemos terminar esta reflexión sin hacer referencia al día de las migraciones que hoy celebra la Iglesia bajo ese lema: “Una sola familia humana.” Las personas que emigran han de sentir la acogida y la ayuda de las comunidades cristianas. Tampoco podemos olvidar que, del 18 al 25 de este mes de enero, tiene lugar la semana de oración por la unión de las Iglesias cristianas: protestantes, ortodoxos, anglicanos y católicos nos unimos, en una plegaria común, para rezar por la unidad que Cristo quiso para su Iglesia. Atentos a los actos que celebraremos, con nuestros hermanos separados, durante esos días. Y, finalmente, es bueno que recordemos que, el próximo domingo, será el día de la Infancia Misionera, que haremos una Colecta y que los niños de aquí deben aprender, de nosotros, a ser solidarios de otros niños como ellos.
