HOMILÍA
Terminado el tiempo de Navidad, hemos vuelto al llamado Tiempo Ordinario. Y, en este domingo, la Palabra de Dios ha vuelto a resonar en nuestros oídos y en nuestro corazón. Un domingo que nos trae, además, dos temas de capital importancia para nuestra reflexión. Uno de ellos hace referencia al Día de los Inmigrantes y Refugiados que hoy se celebra. La Iglesia quiere que los cristianos adoptemos una actitud de acogida hacia las personas que vienen hasta nosotros, desde lejanas tierras, para encontrar un trabajo o unas condiciones dignas de vida. Acogida como personas y como miembros, en muchas ocasiones, de nuestra misma familia cristiana. En nuestras comunidades, en las celebraciones, deben poder encontrar su lugar.
El segundo tema nos habla de la Semana de Oración por la Unión de las Iglesias Cristianas que viene teniendo lugar desde el 18 al 25 de este mes de Enero. Católicos, protestantes, ortodoxos y anglicanos rezamos, por separado o conjuntamente, para alcanzar del Padre Dios el don de la Unidad que hemos ido perdiendo los cristianos con el paso de los siglos. A las luchas y a los enfrentamientos del pasado deben oponerse las actitudes de reconciliación y de concordia del presente, recordando las palabras del buen Papa Juan XXIII: “No busquemos saber quién tuvo la culpa, reconciliémonos.” Recemos por esta intención. Participemos en la celebración de la Eucaristía, en el rezo del Rosario cada día. Y compartamos, con los hermanos de otras confesiones, los actos de oración o culturales, que se han programado.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del profeta de Samuel y nos ha contado la historia de su propia vocación. También en nuestros días, el Señor sigue llamando a muchos a la vida sacerdotal o religiosa. Bueno es que, todos, recemos, un día y otro día, para que nuestras comunidades cuenten con la presencia suficiente de sacerdotes, religiosos y religiosas; de personas consagradas que enseñen, animen y guíen a los creyentes en el camino hacia Dios.
El evangelio de San Juan nos ha presentado la vocación de los tres primeros apóstoles. Su vocación, como la de Samuel en la primera lectura, nos ha de impulsar a trabajar por las vocaciones sacerdotales y religiosas. Antes hablábamos de la oración perseverante como de algo que nunca debe faltar pero, además, siempre habrá algo que todos podamos hacer: los padres hablando a sus hijos de esa posibilidad, los catequistas haciéndoles ver lo hermoso de esta misión y, cada uno de nosotros, animando a quien tenemos al lado para que dé un paso al frente. Algunos ¡ojalá! podrán decir también en primera persona: “Aquí estoy, Señor, vengo porque me has llamado.”
