HOMILÍA
El cuarto domingo de Pascua nos trae, todos los años, la imagen de Jesús como Buen Pastor. Y, unida a ella, celebramos la Jornada Mundial de Oración por las Vocaciones y la Jornada y Colecta de las Vocaciones Nativas. Ese Buen Pastor, que es Jesús, nos pide que no nos cansemos nunca de elevar nuestra plegaria para que no falten en la Iglesia sacerdotes, religiosos, religiosas; en definitiva, personas consagradas a Dios y al bien de sus hermanos los hombres. Tomemos como propia esta tarea de orar y de trabajar para que las vocaciones sean una realidad entre nosotros y en aquellos países de misión donde tan necesarias son también las vocaciones que surjan de esos pueblos.
La primera lectura, tomada del libro de los Hechos de los Apóstoles, nos ha recordado unas palabras del Apóstol Pedro que no se atribuye el mérito de haber curado a un enfermo sino que es consciente de que ha sido en nombre de Jesús. Él es el que lo ha curado. Cuando nosotros hagamos el bien y seamos alabados por ello, pongamos también a Jesús como el que nos ha dado la fuerza para realizarlo pero no nos vanagloriemos de ello, como si fuera obra exclusiva nuestra.
La segunda lectura, del apóstol Juan, nos ha puesto sobre el tapete una gran verdad que, con frecuencia olvidamos: “Que somos hijos de Dios”, que él es nuestro Padre. Vivamos ese ser hijos de Dios con una gran confianza. Él se preocupa por nosotros, no nos deja de su mano, aunque a veces nos parezca que nuestras plegarias se estrellan contra un muro y que no nos llega la respuesta que esperamos.
El relato del evangelio de Juan nos ha descrito la figura de Jesús como un Buen Pastor, que nos conoce, que nos ama y que se interesa también por esas otras ovejas que no pertenecen todavía a su rebaño. Pongámonos al servicio de este Buen Pastor que nos llama a colaborar.
