BAUTISMO DEL SEÑOR
Una escena evangélica que salta hasta el comienzo de la vida pública de Jesús; no hay pesebre, no hay pastores, no hay magos ni ángeles que pregonen la gloria de Dios. Pero en este momento se muestra todo el esplendor de un Dios que ha venido a salvarnos, que ha querido hacerse uno de nosotros y que la Palabra es ratificada por el Padre en la fuerza del Espíritu Santo.
El evangelista Marcos no es muy proclive en detalles; quizá la comunidad a la que dirigía su relato no lo necesitaba; pero nos sitúa su escena partiendo de la predicación del Bautista. Juan anunciaba que ya estaba el Mesías en la tierra, que había venido a reinar y que su bautismo sería en Espíritu Santo.
Se cura en salud; no quiere que nadie lo confunda con Él, con el Esperado; ni siquiera es digno de desatarle los cordones de las sandalias; ¡qué hermosa lección de humildad la que nos quedan siempre las pocas palabras del Bautista que conservamos. Tenía clara su misión; sabía que no iba a salvar el mundo, sino que iba a señalar entre los hombres al Cordero que quita el pecado del mundo.
Y por entonces llegó al Jordán. Jesús se acerca a Juan para cumplir con aquel ritual judío de purificación: su bautismo. Pero algo sucede en aquél instante: se rasga el cielo y desciende el Espíritu Santo. La fuerza santificadora estaba con Él. Junto al Espíritu, la voz del Padre que ratifica que Jesús es su Hijo, su amado, su preferido.
Todo un Dios uno y trino presente en aquél río; una hermosa manifestación, otra epifanía que daría comienzo a la vida pública del nazareno.
Quizá este texto del bautismo de Jesús nos sirva a nosotros para recordar nuestro propio bautismo, para sentirnos en verdad hijos de Dios, amados por Él, llamados a ser sus seguidores. Un bautismo que comenzó en nosotros una nueva vida, regenerada del pecado y llena del Espíritu del Señor. Avivar hoy en nosotros la fuerza recibida en el Bautismo es sentirnos especiales, queridos en lo más profundo de nuestro corazón y responsables también de la misión que se nos ha confiado: anunciar a todos la Buena Noticia del Evangelio.
