V Domingo de Pascua. Ciclo C
La Pascua es alegría y nos sitúa en la esfera de una nueva vida, aquella que hemos ganado en Cristo Jesús, resucitado para nuestra salvación. Este acontecimiento pascual, que aún estamos reviviendo, ha inundado al mundo con su luz y con su alegría haciendo nuevas todas las cosas. Y precisamente en este privilegiado tiempo pascual no podemos dejar de admirar y contemplar los misterios del amor de Dios, porque Dios es amor.
La cena estaba concluyendo; Jesús había querido quedarse para siempre con aquellos que le habían seguido por el camino, en un acto inmenso de amor; puesto de rodillas y con la toalla ceñida a la cintura, el maestro les lavó los pies. Quedaba, en esta noche que nos refiere el evangelio, las palabras que a modo de testamento permanecerían para siempre en la memoria de la Iglesia. Después de todo esto, era glorificado el Hijo del hombre; para eso había venido al mundo para entregarse, para dar su vida en rescate por todos.
Judas había decidido entregar a su Maestro; le quedaba poco tiempo y necesitaba Jesús comunicarles lo más importante, resumirles en pocas palabras todas sus enseñanzas, todo lo que les había enseñado desde que a orillas del lago les pidió que lo dejaran todo y le siguieran.
Y todo se resume en un mandamiento: amaos los unos a los otros como yo os he amado. Aún no podrían entender hasta qué punto les amaba Jesús; pero releyendo la historia, la palabra de la vida a la luz de la resurrección, nos damos cuenta de la generosidad sin límite que derrochó Jesús hacia la humanidad: entregó su propia vida para que nosotros pudiéramos vivir. Un amor sin límite.
Sólo nos pide que amemos como Él, sin límite, sin poner barreras al amor, puesto que Él no las puso. Si alguien dice que Jesús pide algo imposible, le tendríamos que quitar la razón. Es cierto que con nuestras propias fuerzas no podemos, pero sí con la ayuda de Dios. Es necesario intentarlo unidos íntimamente a Cristo en el amor. Sólo con Él podemos soñar en alcanzar imposibles.
Está claro, entonces, mis hermanos, que nos puede faltar cualquier cosa, pero si nos falta el amor al prójimo, no estamos siendo verdaderos discípulos de Cristo. Porque la señal por la que conocerán que somos sus discípulos es porque nos amamos.
Si de verdad amamos a los demás con el mismo amor y la misma generosidad con que lo hizo Cristo, el Espíritu actuará en nosotros.
