BAUTIZADOS EN CRISTO
Epifanía es plenitud de la Navidad. El Señor, que nace en el anonimato de una aldea perdida, se manifiesta, se da a conocer. Lo hizo con Los Reyes Magos, venidos de muy lejos y hoy en el Bautismo de Juan se manifiesta a todos. Lo reconoce el Bautista y el Padre proclama su identidad: "Este es mi Hijo, el amado, mi predilecto".
Algunos rasgos de Jesucristo
Las Lecturas nos hacen una presentación del Señor.
– Para Isaías es el "Servidor paciente".
Aparece invadido por el Espíritu: "Sobre Él he puesto mi Espíritu".
Tras una misión de salvación universal: "Alianza de un pueblo, luz de las naciones".
Mansedumbre, misericordia y fortaleza serán el signo de su vida: "No gritará... no romperá la caña cascada... no vacilará".
- San Pedro lo describe con rasgos parecidos. Tiene la fuerza del Espíritu. Sin acepción de personas. Con la única preocupación de ir por la vida haciendo el bien.
- El Evangelio de San Mateo, que lo presenta a la hora de empezar su vida pública, destaca su humanidad, –quiere pasar como uno de tantos–, y la identidad divina proclamada por el Padre: "Éste es mi Hijo...".
Nuestro Bautismo
Estas imágenes del Bautismo nos recuerdan nuestro propio Bautismo.
Por el Espíritu fuimos revestidos de Cristo. Nos queda la tarea permanente de identificarnos con Él. (Gal. 3, 27)
Fuimos hechos hijos de Dios. "Este Espíritu nos dice que somos hijos de Dios" (Rom. 8, 16) Podemos oír esa voz: "Éste es mi hijo..."
De tal suerte el Bautismo nos ha configurado con Cristo que nos con- vertimos en un "doble" de Jesús. Podemos decir como Pablo: "Ya no soy yo quien vive. Es Cristo quien vive en mí" (Gal. 2, 20)
Identificados con Jesús
Nuestra vida de bautizados tiene que andar por las sendas de Jesús. Los rasgos con que se describe a Jesús, son un buen Programa cristiano.
- Abiertos al Espíritu. Es una fuerza dinámica que no nos llena de una vez para siempre. Lo buscamos constantemente: Palabra, Sacramentos, fidelidad evangélica.
- Acogedores de todos. Sin acepción de personas, sin encerrarnos en el grupo, con visión universal, misionera.
- Respetando la libertad. Él nos dijo: "Id y predicad..." No nos dijo convenced, menos venced, imponed... Por eso sólo sugerimos, brindamos, somos testigos, se nos ve felices en nuestra fe...
- Con misericordia. No apagamos la mecha que humea. Necesitamos de Dios la misericordia con que intentamos mirar a los otros. Un hombre que valora el perdón de Dios, siempre trata misericordiosamente.
- Fuertes en la dificultad. En un mundo, que pone tantas pegas al hecho cristiano, sólo la fortaleza de Jesús nos puede ayudar a mantener el tipo.
- Ir por la vida haciendo el bien. En esto, y sólo esto, nos reconocerán como discípulos de Jesús.
