CARTA CON SALUD
Queridos amigos/as
Nos cuentan los estudiosos de las obras de santa Teresa de Jesús, que en su vida llegó a escribir unas 5.000 cartas, entre ellas escribió muchas sobre la salud. La santa sufrió muchas enfermedades, muchas eran crónicas, otras muy dolorosas e incluso en alguna época de su vida encontraba dificultades para poder comer sin experimentar un fuerte dolor estomacal.
Teresa no cayó en la tentación de absolutizar la salud ni la enfermedad. Nos dice que tanto una como otra constituyen una buena ocasión para hacer cuanto el Señor le pide.
En este Adviento que estrenamos, también la salud y la enfermedad se codean, caminan juntas y en muchos de nuestros hermanos, demasiados, hace estrago el dolor de la soledad, de la enfermedad crónica, de los niños que después de muchas pruebas no saben los padres por qué sufren; en definitiva, el dolor y las enfermedades avanzadas, aparecen con fuerza ante determinadas necesidades a las que hemos de prestar atención.
En este tiempo tan perplejo, dividido y roto por las guerras, es necesario poner orden que nos sitúe en la posibilidad de hacernos cargo de aquellas asignaturas pendientes y así nos acerquemos al prójimo con ternura dando un sentido de paz y felicidad a las personas que nos rodean.
En este tiempo preparatorio para la Navidad, ni la dureza ni la rigidez están llamadas a completar retazos de felicidad en quienes nos necesitan; sino que la empatía, la autenticidad, la flexibilidad, la comunión o la creatividad serán puertas de amor para el encuentro con el “otro”.
En estos días en que nos toca vivir, además de cuidar la salud física se nos invita a vivir la salud espiritual, para que el Dios de la ternura que se hace carne entre nosotros lo acojamos todos para que nos consuele y así podamos descubrir esta ocasión para hacer cuanto el Señor nos pida y aprendamos a descubrir en los sufrimientos y en la salud un elemento de fortaleza y de fuerza creativa para que nosotros nos encontremos con el Dios hecho hombre que nos acompaña y nos ama.
