CON LOS OJOS PUESTOS EN JESÚS,
VIVAMOS LA CUARESMA
Queridos hermanos:
Con el rito de la imposición de la ceniza se ha iniciado la Cuaresma. Éste es un tiempo propicio para que, con la ayuda de la Palabra de Dios, la Oración, el Ayuno y la Limosna, renovemos nuestro camino de fe y pongamos al Señor en el centro de nuestra mirada y de nuestro corazón.
Este tiempo debe estar marcado por la exigencia personal, el desierto, la soledad..., no para quedarnos solamente en ello, sino para que a lo largo del itinerario de estos cuarenta días, sepamos caminar en la esperanza de vivir luego la alegría pascual.
Un tiempo para descubrir cómo Jesús se presenta en la historia, en la de su momento y en la nuestra personal de hoy, proponiendo exigencias radicales en su seguimiento. Nos invita a centrarnos en bienes que no pasan. Nos invita a acercarnos al Misterio de la Verdad, con mayúscula, y a la verdad de los pobres, de los hermanos más necesitados con los que convivimos.
La ascesis personal y la social son medios que podemos utilizar a lo largo de este tiempo, con el fin de crecer y madurar en el amor al Señor, en hacer realmente de Él el centro de nuestra vida. La ascesis es un “estiramiento” de nuestro propio ser, es la respuesta al desafío de poder amar en cada circunstancia aunque no seamos perfectos.
Comienza por un gran Amor, el del Señor, que nos invita a renunciar a cuanto pretende instaurarse como dueño de nuestro corazón. Él cuenta con nuestra pequeñez para que su amor no sólo no muera, sino que crezca y se arraigue en nuestro ser personal y en nuestra red comunitaria y nos de capacidad de gratuidad y de riesgo en la entrega apostólica.
En este Año de la Fe, estamos llamados a romper con la indiferencia que no nos deja vivir el don del encuentro con el Señor, al tiempo que tenemos que prestar atención al otro, lo cual significa responsabilidad para procurar el bien común. Esto implica abrir los ojos a los necesitados, fijarnos con compasión en el que está caído en el camino de la vida -como el Buen Samaritano-, sin olvidar la corrección fraterna que nos va a ayudar a hacer un mundo más hermano.
Corregir al que se equivoca no es una actitud de condena o recriminación sino de verdadera solicitud por el bien personal e integral. La corrección fraterna es caminar juntos hacia la santidad. La Cuaresma es una gran oportunidad en las familias, en las comunidades, en la Iglesia y sociedad en general, para ayudarnos mutuamente a llegar a Semana Santa, con nuevas actitudes y disposiciones.
La mirada de la fe está centrada en el Señor Jesús, en aprender a poner los ojos en Él, en su Corazón, y contemplar todo lo demás desde ahí. “La puerta de la Fe” (cf. Hch 14, 27) se abre al encuentro íntimo con el Señor y se cierra en comunión con el prójimo. Esto será una realidad cuando crucemos el umbral del egoísmo y caminemos como hermanos, unidos en la oración y el testimonio, al encuentro de Cristo Resucitado.
