CAMINO HACIA EL NECESITADO
Queridos amigos:
Comenzamos la Cuaresma que nos lleva hacia la Pascua. Nuestro peregrinar durante estos cuarenta días nosinvita a la reflexión en el camino, en la dureza del desierto y de las dificultades de la vida, como le ocurrió a Abraham y a los profetas y les ocurre a tantos y tantos hermanos nuestros que tienen que salir de su casa y de su tierra. Esta dureza no la marca la geografía de un desierto, aunque sus signos, su simbolismo nos ayuda. Nos la muestra el corazón de tantos hermanos nuestros rotos por el hambre y la guerra; de otros que viven la cuaresma de la persecución religiosa y como consecuencia se apodera de ellos el miedo, el dolor y en muchos casos la muerte.
Ante estas circunstancias necesitamos responder con mayor fidelidad evangelizadora en nuestra vida personal y en nuestras comunidades cristianas para romper con el “continuismo” y vincularnos a esa larga lista de quienes viven el “compromiso” con el hermano más necesitado.
Dios no está contento con los corazones que buscan la seguridad y la comodidad, sino que quiere sacudir nuestras vidas y lanzarlas al compromiso con el más débil y vulnerable. Ha llegado el tiempo en que las huídas no son buenas. Tenemos que ponernos las sandalias y salir al encuentro del que está retenido en las fronteras, del que llega en una patera o el que vive en la soledad y la tristeza de su ancianidad desamparada.
El encuentro con la realidad nos hace vivir la Cuaresma mirando a las heridas de la gente y las fragilidades de nuestros pueblos. En la medida en que nos involucremos en la vida de los demás y sintamos sus heridas, nuestro ser cristiano se activará con mayor fuerza para que se tambaleen nuestras seguridades, e incluso el sistema de trabajo pastoral y nuestro andar eclesial se armonice desde el Evangelio y los signos de los tiempos.
Ante esta realidad, este tiempo que iniciamos con el Miércoles de ceniza nos invita a ayunar de todo aquello que no necesitamos, a rezar confiando en que el buen Dios puede cambiar nuestros corazones y a compartir con los más necesitados.
Tratemos de caminar en este tiempo, levantando la mirada para ver lejos y encontrar, bien adentro de nosotros, lo que tenemos que ir dejando para discernir cómo evangelizamos y para llegar a todas las periferias que hay al borde del camino.
Que este andar sea vivido sin recetas prefijadas, sino con la apertura generosa al Espíritu que va conduciendo la historia por los caminos que Dios quiere.
