NAVIDAD 2012
NOS HA BRILLADO UNA LUZ
Al acercarse esta Navidad quiero saludaros y desearos en estos días de Acción de Gracias por el aniversario del nacimiento de nuestro Señor y Salvador Jesucristo, abundantes bendiciones para cada uno de vosotros y vuestras familias.
El mensaje del profeta Isaías, “A los que habitaban en tierra de sombras, una luz les brilló” (Is 9,1) pronunciado hace más de dos mil seiscientos años, sigue siendo actual para nuestro tiempo y para cada uno de nosotros.
Caminamos en tinieblas y sombras, con preocupaciones, temores y dudas, con dificultades sociales y ciertas oscuridades espirituales, en situaciones de pobreza extrema, y en muchos casos con tristeza en los corazones. Vivimos muchas veces en sombras de dolor. Muchos jóvenes, miran el futuro sin esperanza por falta de oportunidades, de trabajo remunerado. La vida de mucha de nuestra gente está en riesgo. La naturaleza gime con dolor por la violación de sus entrañas.
Y es en este mundo sombrío y oscuro donde nos viene, en la noche de Navidad, el feliz anuncio del nacimiento del Niño Jesús, el Hijo de Dios: “No tengáis miedo, porque vengo a daros una buena noticia que será motivo de mucha alegría para todos: Hoy ha nacido en Belén un Salvador, que es el Mesías y el Señor, encontraréis al Niño recién nacido, envuelto en pañales y acostado en un pesebre” (Lc 2,10-12). Jesucristo ha venido, pobre y humilde, para preocuparse precisamente por los más abandonados y humillados.
Algunos cristianos me han expresado que a pesar del abandono económico y social del que son objeto por diversas circunstancias, se sienten solamente acompañados por Dios que les provee para vivir de lo más necesario que es la vida y la fe que nadie les puede arrebatar.
La frase de Mateo, “Y le pondrán por nombre Emmanuel, que significa Dios con nosotros” (Mt 1,23), es la mejor expresión para decir que Dios nunca abandona a su pueblo aún cuando éste se aparte de Él. Lo que Jesús nos ha venido a ofrecer en sus palabras, gestos, actitudes y con su vida misma, es la certeza de que Dios está siempre con nosotros. Es un mensaje que no es propiedad de ninguna religión sino que pertenece a todos.
Esta fe nos anima siempre y nos hace enfrentar las tinieblas y las sombras que encontramos en nuestra vida diaria, con la presencia de un Dios que está con nosotros de una forma discreta, humilde, cercana e íntima. Con su encarnación, el Hijo de Dios defiende nuestra dignidad, nos protege y nos llama a construir una vida más justa y fraterna como hijos e hijas de Dios. Él nos acompaña en la vida y más allá de la muerte para recibirnos en la casa que nos ha preparado.
Dios está con nosotros: esto es lo que celebramos en la Navidad. El Emmanuel es signo de bendición y de presencia permanente de Dios en nuestra vida y aunque quizá no lo experimentemos sensiblemente, sabemos que Él siempre está con nosotros y nunca nos abandona.
