VINO AL MUNDO
Queridos amigos:
Nos ha nacido un Salvador. Vino al mundo en una noche cerrada, en la que de pronto, una “claridad” envolvió con su resplandor a los pastores. La imagen es grandiosa, la noche queda iluminada. Sin embargo, los pastores “se llenan de temor”. No tienen miedo a las tinieblas, sino a la luz. Por eso el anuncio empieza con estas palabras: “No temáis”.
También en nuestros días nos puede suceder algo parecido. Preferimos vivir en tinieblas, nos da miedo la luz de Dios. No queremos vivir en la verdad. Pues mirad, quien no ponga en estos días más luz y verdad en su vida no celebrará la Navidad.
El mensaje es insistente y continuado: “Os traigo la Buena Noticia, la gran alegría para todo el pueblo”. La alegría de Navidad no es una alegría entre muchas, no es bienestar a costa de otros, no es disfrute esclavizante, es una alegría “grande”, inconfundible, que viene a todos y para todos. Es “Jesús hecho hombre” que ha de llegar sobre todo a los pueblos más pobres y a quienes sufren y viven en las “periferias”.
Si Jesús no es una “buena noticia”, si su Evangelio no nos dice nada nuevo, si no descubrimos la alegría de que Dios viene para todos y reducimos el bienestar al disfrute egoísta, celebraremos cualquier fiesta menos la Navidad.
La única razón para celebrar la Navidad, es que nos ha nacido “el Salvador” del mundo. Ese niño, que vino al mundo y sigue viniendo en la verdad del amor y la misericordia, en la esperanza de quienes la perdieron, en la alegría de quienes están tristes y en quienes sospechan tímidamente que la Navidad ofrece la clave de nuestra existencia.
Sin esperanza y misericordia no hay Navidad. Se anuncia la Navidad y se oculta su verdadero sentido. Muchos nos recuerdan donde está el corazón de estas fiestas, pero a esos, a los pobres no les escuchamos. Sí, despertamos buenos sentimientos, disfrutamos del hogar y la amistad, nos regalamos momentos de felicidad. Todo eso es bueno, pero todavía no es Navidad. La Navidad sólo se celebra de verdad cuando somos capaces de adorar el misterio de Belén.
Acerquémonos al portal de Belén y allí descubriremos que es la fiesta de los niños y de aquellos que saben vivir con corazón de niño. Sólo ellos pueden disfrutar como nadie del regalo de un Dios niño.
Este Niño vino al mundo en una noche “diferente”, pidámosle que en nuestras noches nos traiga un amanecer de paz, solidaridad y amor.
