LA NOSTALGIA DE LA NAVIDAD
Queridos amigos:
El tiempo de Navidad está cargado de nostalgia. Cantamos y deseamos la paz, pero no acertamos a construirla. Estrechamos nuestras manos y nuestros labios pronuncian el deseo de felicidad, pero cada día resulta más difícil ser felices. Somos generosos en la compra de regalos para manifestar cercanía y gratitud, pero lo que realmente necesitamos es afecto, cariño y ternura. Nuestras voces se afinan para cantar a un niño Dios que se hace carne, pero en nuestros corazones no se enciende la fe.
La experiencia nos dice que a menudo nada llena plenamente nuestros deseos, no hay riqueza que pueda proporcionar plena felicidad, ni amor que pueda responder plenamente a los deseos más hondos de nuestro ser. No hay profesión que satisfaga plenamente nuestras aspiraciones. No es posible ser amados por todos.
La nostalgia puede tener efectos positivos, si nos permite descubrir que nuestros deseos van más allá de lo que hoy podemos poseer o disfrutar. Nos ayuda a mantener abierto el horizonte de nuestra existencia a algo más grande y pleno que todo lo que conocemos. La nostalgia no nos deja vivir encadenados sólo a este mundo.
La fiesta de la Navidad, vivida desde la nostalgia en lo que tiene de positivo, crea un clima diferente: en este tiempo se capta mejor la necesidad de hogar y solidaridad, de alegría y fraternidad. Se intuye que el misterio de Dios es nuestro destino último.
Si uno es creyente, la fe le invita estos días a descubrir ese Misterio, no en un país extraño e inaccesible, sino en un Niño recién nacido. Así de simple y de increíble. Hemos de acercarnos a Dios como nos acercamos a un niño: de manera suave y sin ruidos; sin discursos solemnes sino con palabras sencillas nacidas del corazón. Nos encontramos con Dios cuando le abrimos lo mejor que hay en nosotros.
Por tal motivo, el mensajero continúa diciendo en esta Navidad: “Os traigo la Buena Noticia, la gran alegría para todo el pueblo”. La alegría de Navidad no es una más entre otras. No hay que confundirla con cualquier bienestar, satisfacción o disfrute. Es una alegría grande, inconfundible, que viene de la Buena Noticia de Jesús. Por eso, es para todo el pueblo y ha de llegar, sobre todo, a los que sufren y viven tristes.
Con nuestros mejores sentimientos, disfrutaremos del hogar y la amistad, nos regalaremos momentos de felicidad; pero, sobre todo, descubriremos que la única razón para celebrar la Navidad es que: “Nos ha nacido hoy el Salvador del mundo”. Este mundo que conocemos no es la verdad absoluta. Jesucristo es la esperanza de que la injusticia que hoy lo envuelve todo no prevalecerá para siempre.
A pesar del tono frívolo y superficial que se crea en nuestra sociedad, la Navidad puede acercarnos a Dios, al menos, si la vivimos con fe sencilla y corazón limpio.
