UN DIOS CERCANO
Queridos amigos:
Tengo que empezar diciendo que, al desearos una Feliz Navidad, no quiero hacerlo como si fuera un autómata que en estos días le dice a todos lo mismo, sólo porque es lo correcto. Aunque pudiera dar la impresión, por el medio en que me dirijo a todos vosotros, que mi felicitación no es más que un deseo genérico, os puedo asegurar que en lo que escribo estoy manifestando mis más profundos sentimientos.
Estoy convencido de que me estáis leyendo hombres, mujeres, familias, mayores, enfermos, niños… Sé también que cada uno de vosotros lleva en el corazón una necesidad, una ilusión, una esperanza, y quizás también una frustración o una pena. Pues bien, celebrar la Navidad es, ante todo, creer, agradecer y disfrutar de la cercanía de Dios. Ese Niño nacido en Belén es el punto de la creación donde la verdad, la bondad y la cercanía cariñosa de Dios hacia sus criaturas aparece de manera más tierna y bella.
En el corazón de estas fiestas en que celebramos al Dios hecho hombre, hay una llamada que todos, absolutamente todos, podemos escuchar: “Cuando no tengas ya a nadie que te pueda ayudar, cuando no veas ninguna salida, cuando creas que todo está perdido, confía en Dios. El está siempre junto a ti. El te entiende y te apoya. El es tu salvación». Dios siempre nos guarda una salida.
La fidelidad y la bondad de Dios están por encima de todo, incluso de toda fatalidad y todo pecado. Todo puede ser nuevo si nos abrimos confiadamente a su perdón. En ese Niño nacido en Belén, Dios nos regala un comienzo nuevo. Para Dios nadie está definitivamente perdido.
Sé que estas fiestas navideñas no son fáciles para muchos de vosotros. El que está solo, siente estos días con más crudeza su soledad. Los padres que sufren el alejamiento del hijo querido, lo añoran estas fechas más que nunca. La pareja en que se va apagando el amor, siente aún más su impotencia para reavivar aquel cariño que un día iluminó sus vidas.
También en estos días es fácil sentir dentro del alma la nostalgia de un mundo más humano y feliz que los hombres no somos capaces de construir. En el fondo, todos sabemos que, al margen de otras muchas cosas, no somos más felices porque no somos más buenos.
Pues bien, la Navidad nos recuerda que, a pesar de nuestra aterradora superficialidad y, sobre todo, de nuestro inconfesable egoísmo, siempre hay en nosotros un rincón secreto en el que todavía se puede escuchar una llamada a ser mejores y más felices porque contamos con la comprensión de Dios.
No huyamos de la bondad de Dios de la que queremos escapar, sino de nuestro vacío y nuestra mediocridad.
Felices los que, en medio del bullicio y aturdimiento de estas fiestas sepan rezar a un Dios cercano y acogerlo con corazón creyente y agradecido. Para ellos habrá sido Navidad y para todos vosotros os deseo bondad y un feliz año 2020
