PALABRAS DE NUESTRO OBISPO:
Cada año, en la solemnidad de la Asunción de la Virgen María, sintiéndonos miembros activos de la Iglesia, como piedras vivas que entramos en la construcción de una comunidad creyente, orante y celebrante, tomamos conciencia lúdica de la necesidad de proteger, custodiar y conservar el patrimonio histórico, artístico, documental y monumental que hemos recibido de las generaciones anteriores.
Agradecemos la colaboración de todas las personas que contribuyen, con la dedicación de su tiempo y con su aportación económica, a este servicio de innegable valor religioso y cultural. Los espacios de culto son también ámbitos de cultura. La convivencia también significa vivir agradecidos hacia todas las personas que contribuyeron, en el pasado, a expresar la fe a través de obras que se han perpetuado en el tiempo como manifestación de alabanza al Creador y lugares de encuentro con los hermanos.
Sabemos que hay muchas pequeñas localidades, en las que, con el paso del tiempo, se aprecia un envejecimiento notable de los residentes, junto con el creciente fenómeno de la despoblación. No les resulta posible asumir cuantiosos gastos para las más elementales labores de mantenimiento. Ya no son capaces de recaudar recursos para realizar obras sencillas. Dependen de nosotros, de toda la Diócesis.
Las goteras, los desperfectos en los tejados, el resultado de las inclemencias del tiempo, el efecto devastador de las aves, los roedores y otros tipos de fauna, las semillas esparcidas por el viento que encuentran cobijo en algún lugar húmedo de nuestras iglesias y ermitas y otros muchos factures deterioran sensiblemente el patrimonio.
Continuamente llegan solicitudes verbales y escritas para arreglar urgentemente esto o aquello. Pero la Diócesis no puede llegar a todo y hay unas prioridades establecidas según unos principios y criterios.
Son muchas las necesidades y limitados los recursos. Por ello, hacemos un renovado llamamiento a todos para que nuestro patrimonio esté en las mejores condiciones posibles, sea accesible y visitable, y pueda ser disfrutado en el futuro por las generaciones a quienes dejaremos un importante legado histórico. La colecta del día 15 de agosto se destinará, en su integridad, a este común objetivo en toda la Diócesis de Jaca. Muchas gracias por el esfuerzo que se realiza.
