Transfiguración del Señor.
Es la segunda vez este año que escuchamos este texto del evangelio de la Transfiguración de Jesús en el monte Tabor. Si recordáis, ya lo habíamos escuchado el segundo Domingo de Cuaresma, en el marco de la preparación de la Pascua, como un adelanto del final de la trama de la pasión, muerte y resurrección del Señor.
Hoy, en cambio, queremos ver a Jesús glorificado; como Señor. De hecho, a la fiesta de hoy se la conoce como la fiesta del Salvador, y muchas iglesias dedicadas a Cristo Salvador celebran hoy su fiesta, pues nos muestra a Jesús lleno de gloria, confirmado como Mesías y Señor por Moisés y por Elías, representantes del Antiguo Testamento.
Y esta gloria de Jesús, previa a su pasión y muerte, nos muestra de donde procede. Procede de Dios. Fijaos si esta escena fue impactante que el apóstol san Pedro la recuerda de un modo especial en la segunda lectura.
Y es que la Transfiguración no solo ayuda a los apóstoles a superar el escándalo de la pasión, sino también a darse cuenta de que Jesús es verdaderamente Dios. Yo me imagino la cara que se les pondría a aquellos tres apóstoles cuando vieran todo aquello... Y cómo se quedarían cuando oyeran desde el cielo a Dios Padre proclamando solemnemente que Jesucristo era su Hijo amado, el Hijo al que todos tenemos que escuchar ... De hecho, el evangelio nos dice, claramente, que se cayeron de bruces, es decir, que cayeron con la cara al suelo, espantados.
Pero Jesús les dice que no tengan miedo. Pero no lo dice de una forma solemne y mayestática, no, sino que lo dice tocándolos. También a nosotros hoy Jesús nos toca y nos dice que no tengamos miedo. Nos toca suavemente, con su palabra, que tenemos que escuchar, y con los sacramentos, entrando en nuestra vida. Por eso no debemos ni podemos prescindir de Cristo en nuestra vida. Al revés. Necesitamos más que nunca pararnos, hacer silencio y escuchar a Jesús, escuchar el evangelio, que nos mostrará nuestra pequeñez y pobreza, pero a la par, todo lo que Dios nos ama.
Es cierto que tendremos la tentación, como la tuvo Pedro, de quedarnos en los momentos buenos, de no querer enfrentarnos a la realidad. Pero no puede ser. Nos toca, como hicieron Jesús y los discípulos, bajar de la montaña a la realidad, y vivir mirando hacia delante. Pero vivir sin miedo, sabiendo que, por muy negro que se nos pueda presentar el panorama, al final triunfará Cristo, cuyo poder es un poder eterno, que no cesará, y cuyo reino no acabará.
