MUJER ¡QUÉ GRANDE ES TU FE!
La Universalidad de la salvación
Para Israel, era impensable que los extranjeros pudiesen formar parte del pueblo elegido, pero la 1ª Lectura anuncia el deseo de Dios de que todos participen de la salvación. A los extranjeros los traeré a mi monte santo, los llenaré de júbilo en mi casa de oración. Se amplían los horizontes. Es el gran anuncio de la universalidad de la salvación. Ante este gran anuncio, el Profeta exhorta a guardar el derecho y a practicar la justicia.
Todos están necesitados de la misericordia de Dios
San Pablo dirá que tanto judíos como gentiles están necesitados de la misericordia de Dios. La buena noticia del evangelio está abierta a todos. El Apóstol tiene la experiencia de que los gentiles han respondido a la salvación que Cristo ha venido a ofrecer, y abriga la esperanza de que la apertura de los gentiles sea estímulo para que también los judíos puedan participar de la buena noticia. Dios no deja a nadie al margen de la salvación.
Qué grande es tu fe
En el evangelio, la actitud de Jesús hacia la mujer cananea puede parecer, inicialmente, una actitud dura e incluso despectiva. La mentalidad judía consideraba que el pan de los "hijos" (los judíos) no debía darse a los "perros" (los paganos). El pan hacía referencia a las promesas y bendiciones de Dios. No obstante, la mujer cananea, con gran audacia, con toda la fuerza de su amor maternal y con toda la esperanza puesta en Jesús, suplica que su hija sea curada: Ten compasión de mí, Señor, Hijo de David. Cuando Jesús aduce que no estaría bien dar el pan de los hijos a los perros, la mujer afirma: Cierto, Señor; pero también los perros comen las migajas que caen de la mesa de los amos.
Esta actitud dará paso a una incondicional acogida por parte de Jesús, manifestándole: Mujer, qué grande es tu fe. Que se cumpla lo que deseas. El evangelio anuncia que, con Jesús, se produce un gran cambio: el fin del exclusivismo religioso para abrir el horizonte de la salvación a todos.
