- – Este mundo nuestro está en tinieblas, está desorientado, está triste. NECESITA LUZ.
Si no ardes no podrás emitir luz; pero si estás ardiendo, como los discípulos de Emaús cuando se encontraron con Jesús, no podrás dejar de emitirla. Solo si vivo a tope, puedo “ser luz” y ayudar a los que viven en la oscuridad. La tarea fundamental de cada uno está dentro de él mismo, no fuera. La preocupación de cada uno debe ser alcanzar la plenitud humana. Si eres luz, todo quedará iluminado a tu alrededor. La luz sirve para saber dónde está cada cosa, por dónde moverme… La oscuridad me paraliza. Esa pequeña luz me orienta, pone las cosas en su sitio. Cuando alguien ofrece un cirio al Señor o a la Virgen, no quiere que se lo apaguen, quiere que esté encendido hasta que se consuma del todo.
Nuestra vida es ese cirio encendido y, en tanto es vida, en cuanto está encendido. Un cirio apagado no tiene sentido. Un cirio a medio consumir, es un cirio malogrado. Así también nuestra vida. Y no olvidemos que el cirio no se enciende a sí mismo. La luz la recibe de otra llama. En nuestro caso “sólo podemos ser luz” si la recibimos de Aquel que dijo: “YO SOY LA LUZ”
- – Este mundo nuestro es demasiado corrupto y demasiado soso. NECESITA SAL.
Las dos características de la sal son: preservar y sazonar. En la vida siempre ha habido corruptos, gente sin conciencia que se aprovecha de los demás, pero el mal de nuestros días es que la corrupción se ha metido en las Instituciones: en los partidos políticos, en los sindicatos, en la Corona y, por desgracia, también en la Iglesia. Hoy más que nunca los cristianos debemos ser transparentes y preservar a nuestro mundo de la corrupción. Debemos ser sal.
También es común entre los hombres de nuestro tiempo la pérdida de sentido, el aburrimiento, la apatía, la poca ilusión por vivir. Lo decía muy bien Cox en su famoso libro de “Fiesta de locos”: “el hombre moderno ha ganado el mundo, pero ha perdido el alma”. Al hombre moderno le han subido a un coche con todo lujo de servicios por dentro, con una preciosa carrocería por fuera, pero “sin motor”. Y la chispa de la vida, por más propaganda que hagan, no la da la “Coca–cola”. La chispa de la vida la da “la sal del evangelio”. Hay que volver a bautizar con sal, con más sal que antes. Con Jesús la vida tiene otro color y otro sabor. Y esto los cristianos lo tenemos que hacer no con protagonismos sino, como la sal, desapareciendo sazonándolo todo. Jesús es un Maestro, pero no de ciencias ni de historia, sino Maestro de vida. Con Jesús se aprende a vivir, se aprende a saborear la vida, con todas las maravillas que Dios ha puesto en ella.
