Celebra hoy la Iglesia la fiesta del Corpus Christi, fiesta de la eucaristía, fiesta que nos recuerda la presencia misteriosa pero real de Jesús en el pan y en el vino que recibimos en la Comunión. En muchos lugares de nuestra geografía, la custodia, portando al Santísimo, al pan consagrado, es llevada por las calles de nuestros pueblos y ciudades. Hubo cristianos en los siglos XII y XIII que querían que, el Jesús encerrado en el Sagrario, saliera al encuentro de la gente, que fuera visto por los enfermos desde las ventanas de sus casas y que recibiera el tributo de adoración y de gratitud de todos los que se encontraran a su paso. Ese fue el origen de las actuales procesiones del Corpus.
Dejemos, una vez más, que nuestro corazón tome conciencia del milagro diario que se produce ante nuestros ojos. El Jesús de las parábolas, el Jesús nacido en Belén, muerto en la cruz y resucitado al tercer día, el Jesús hermano, compañero y amigo, el Jesús Dios en el más pleno sentido de la palabra... viene a nosotros cada vez que le recibimos en la comunión y está ahí en el Sagrario para que nosotros vayamos a verle, a acompañarle, a rezarle, a exponerle problemas y necesidades, a darle gracias por tantas cosas. No dejemos de encontrar tiempo para hacer una visita al sagrario, para sentirle cerca, para decirle cuánto le necesitamos, cuánto le queremos.
El Jesús Eucaristía es llevado, como sabemos, a las casas de los enfermos, de los que no pueden salir de casa por los motivos que sean. Bueno es que nos preocupemos de que nuestros familiares enfermos o ancianos puedan seguir recibiendo la comunión que les mantendrá unidos no solo a Jesús Eucaristía sino también a la comunidad parroquial que se lo hace llegar. Los primeros cristianos, en sus eucaristías, no se olvidaban nunca de reservar una parte del pan consagrado para llevárselo a los cristianos que iban a sufrir martirio, a los que estaban en la cárcel, a los enfermos. Ojala que también nosotros cuidemos mucho este aspecto: cuando el cristiano no puede venir a la Eucaristía, que la Eucaristía pueda llegar al cristiano que así lo solicita.
En este día de la Eucaristía, la Iglesia quiere que celebremos también el Día de la Caridad. Que honremos al Cristo presente en la Eucaristía, sí, pero también al Cristo presente en todo ser humano, sobre todo en aquel que sufre, que no tiene lo necesario para vivir. Hoy, Cáritas hace una Colecta para recaudar fondos y seguir atendiendo así a tantas necesidades como hay, aquí entre nosotros, y en tantos lugares del mundo sometidos a desastres naturales. En la medida de nuestras posibilidades, demos. Mejor, démonos a nosotros mismos. Sintamos la pobreza y la miseria de tantos seres humanos, hermanos nuestros. La mejor forma de honrar al Cristo Eucaristía es en el necesitado.
