La buena noticia que predicaba Jesús se extendía a todo el ambiente judío; y ¡qué lugar mejor para explicarla y proclamarla que en la sinagoga, lugar de encuentro y de experiencias religiosas! Sus palabras se diferenciaban de los demás rabinos; Cristo hablaba con autoridad, no como los maestros de la Ley. Había algo especial en su mensaje, en su manera de proclamarlo; lo hacía con legitimidad, con facultades; sus palabras eran dignas de crédito. Y así lo afirmaban los que le escuchaban.
Frente a sus palabras y a la autoridad que manifestaban, los gritos de los demonios que también conocían a Jesús. “Sé que eres el Santo de Dios”. Jesús le ordena silencio, que se callara. No había lugar para las palabras cuando estaba hablando Él. Dos polos opuestos en un mismo lugar: las palabras que pronunciaba Jesús con autoridad y el silencio impuesto por el Cristo a aquél espíritu inmundo.
Cuando sale de aquél hombre el espíritu maligno, todos murmuran, comentan entre sí, se extrañan, pero nadie dice nada; solo observaban lo que pasaba ante sus ojos; y en voz baja se preguntaban quién era aquél hombre que hacía callar hasta los espíritus inmundos.
La Palabra, de la que escribía Juan en su evangelio, se había hecho carne; y ahora se pronunciaba públicamente. Jesús hablaba, su modo era distinto al resto de maestros que había en Cafarnaún. Ofrecía una Buena Noticia, exponía el camino de la salvación a aquellos que le escuchaban, y todo lo acompañaba con signos, manifestando así que era el Ungido de Dios, el Cristo.
Hasta los espíritus inmundos le obedecían, hasta lo más anti-sagrado de este mundo le reconocía como el Santo de Dios; la fama de Jesús se iba extendiendo allá por donde iba, y más importante que su fama… su mensaje.
Tal y como están los medios de comunicación, la información nos satura por todos lados; imágenes, textos, sonidos… envuelven nuestro ambiente hasta tal punto que nos cuesta llegar a lo hondo de nuestro corazón para hacer silencio. Un silencio necesario para poder escuchar esas palabras que pronunciaba Jesús con autoridad.
Sólo desde un corazón pobre y humilde, que se sorprende ante el amor, se puede entender un mensaje como el de Jesús: los ciegos ven, los cojos andan y a los pobres se les anuncia el reino de Dios; el silencio ante la Palabra nos permite descubrir la presencia del Ungido en nuestras vidas.
