Un año más, al llegar el momento de la declaración de la renta, hemos de recordar lo importante que es nuestro compromiso al marcar la casilla de la Iglesia. Debemos tener las ideas muy claras. El sostenimiento económico de la Iglesia en España depende de nosotros, los católicos, y de todos aquellos que valoran positivamente el servicio que la Iglesia presta a la sociedad. No olvidemos en estas fechas que la Iglesia está en primera línea siempre que hay necesidades sociales, asistenciales y culturales que atender.
Recordamos, además, que se pueden marcar a la vez las dos casillas: 0,7% para la Iglesia y otro 0,7% para fines sociales, con lo que se apoya no sólo la misión pastoral de la Iglesia, sino la acción social que llevan a cabo organizaciones como Cáritas o Manos Unidas, que reciben cada año fondos del IRPF recaudados a través de la casilla de “otros fines sociales”.
Añadimos, finalmente, que es muy importante decir a quien nos ayuda a hacer la declaración –un amigo, el gestor, el empleado de Hacienda, etc–. que deseamos marcar la “X” a favor de la Iglesia. No olvidemos hacerlo.
