HOMILÍA
La Iglesia celebra, en este día, la Solemnidad de Cristo Rey. Hoy ponemos fin a un año litúrgico que hemos venido viviendo, de una manera especial, de la mano del Evangelista San Mateo. El próximo domingo, primero de adviento, comenzaremos otro año, pero esta vez acompañados por el evangelista San Marcos. Él nos hablará de Jesús desde su propia perspectiva. Nos hablará de sus milagros, de sus parábolas, de sus enseñanzas, de su Pasión, Muerte y Resurrección tal y cómo sólo él lo supo vivir, experimentar y transmitir.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del profeta Ezequiel. Se imagina a Dios como un buen Pastor que cuida, protege y ama a sus ovejas; pero también como un juez justo que sabrá recompensar a quienes han hecho de su vida una ofrenda de amor. Una recompensa que no alcanzarán aquellos que están optando por el egoísmo, por la indiferencia hacia los sufrimientos de los demás. Recordemos nosotros la seria advertencia que nos viene de la mano del profeta y actuemos en consecuencia.
La segunda lectura, de la carta del San Pablo a los cristianos de Corinto, nos ha hablado de la resurrección de Jesús como garantía de nuestra propia resurrección para concluir con una afirmación que, en este domingo, nos viene muy bien recordar: “Cristo tiene que reinar hasta que ponga a todos sus enemigos bajo sus pies”. Dejemos que reine también en nuestras personas, en nuestras familias, en la tierra entera.
El relato del evangelio de San Mateo nos ha recordado la parábola del Juicio Final donde un Jesús Rey y Juez premiará a todos aquellos que han hecho el bien con obras y de verdad: dando de comer al hambriento, de beber al sediento, acogiendo al peregrino, vistiendo al desnudo, visitando a los enfermos y a los encarcelados. Jesús no se olvida de recordarnos que, lo hecho a los demás, se lo hacemos a él mismo.
