HOMILÍA
Celebra hoy la Iglesia la Solemnidad del Corpus Christi. Con ella queremos reconocer, adorar y agradecer la presencia de Jesús en la Eucaristía, en el Sagrario. Hoy, en muchos sitios, es día de procesiones por las calles portando la Custodia con el Santísimo. Es también el día del Amor Fraterno. La presencia de Jesús en la Eucaristía nos habla de un mundo en el que muchos sufren. De una sociedad en la que algunos se sienten excluidos del reparto de la riqueza que Dios quiere que sea para todos: Ahí están los que no encuentran un empleo, los mendigos y transeúntes forzosos, lo que no les alcanza a fin de mes, los que miran con angustia el futuro. También los que acaban de llegar de otros países buscando una vida mejor. El Jesús Eucaristía nos habla del dolor y del sufrimiento con el que cargan a diario tantos a nuestro alrededor.
Nos habla de todos ellos, sí, y nos dice “dadles vosotros de comer” o, lo que es lo mismo: compartid lo que sois y lo que tenéis, aliviad el sufrimiento, haced vuestra la causa de los que vienen de lejos buscando un trabajo y una vida mejor para ellos y los suyos, escuchad al que tiene un problema o una pena que compartir. Sed solidarios con la suerte de los más desfavorecidos. No os recluyáis en vuestro bienestar, cerrando los ojos a la realidad de una humanidad doliente. Apuntaos a esas organizaciones que, como Caritas, tratan de cambiar los corazones de lo que tienen para que compartan sus bienes con quienes carecen incluso de lo más imprescindible. Y, dad, no solo de lo que os sobra, sino también de lo necesario, imitando a aquella viuda del evangelio que dio de lo que ella misma necesitaba para vivir.
Dios no se deja vencer en generosidad. Demos dinero, sí, pero también tiempo, conocimientos. Que nuestro corazón sea un lugar de acogida, de encuentro. Que el que se acerque a nosotros se vaya después mejor y más feliz. Que nadie se marche sin el regalo de una sonrisa, de una palabra amable, de un saludo cordial. Todos los seres humanos, sea cual sea nuestro origen, cultura, religión, somos compañeros de camino y necesitamos ayudarnos los unos a los otros. ¿De qué nos serviría a los cristianos honrar al Cristo Eucaristía cuando comulgamos y en el Sagrario si nos olvidáramos de esos otros Cristos que son nuestros hermanos más necesitados?
Lo que hagamos o dejemos de hacer a los demás, se lo hacemos o se lo dejamos de hacer al mismo Cristo. Recordemos la Parábola del Juicio Final y, en esta jornada, colaboremos con generosidad en la colecta que hace Cáritas en favor de tantos proyectos de promoción, de ayuda, de servicio que están cambiando a mejor la realidad.
