Seguimos el itinerario de Jesús, conducidos por San Lucas. El Señor subió al monte, pasó la noche en oración y de madrugada, llamó a sus discípulos y eligió a Doce, a los que llamó Apóstoles. Para que estuvieran con Él y para enviarlos a predicar.
Al bajar al llano se encontró con la multitud de gentes, curó a muchos enfermos y empezó a enseñarles. Capítulo primero: las Bienaventuranzas. Sólo cuatro, no ocho, como Mateo. Pero más cortas, más directas, mucho más incisivas.
Felices los que sois pobres, los que pasáis hambre, los que sufrís, los maltratados por los hombres.
Pero ¡ay! de los ricos sin entrañas, de los hartos, de los que ríen siempre, de los que sólo oyen aplausos.
¿Es que Dios quiere la pobreza? ¿Está en contra del progreso económico? ¿Es malo el bienestar que todos perseguimos? ¿No es un sarcasmo decir que es feliz el hombre que vive en su miseria?
El corazón de Dios
Dios no quiere la pobreza. Lo que Jesús nos quiere decir en las Bienaventuranzas es que esos hombres abandonados de todos, sufridores, cuentan con el corazón de Dios.
Es como si el Señor les dijera a esas personas: a pesar de la miseria que acompaña vuestra vida, os llamo felices porque yo, vuestro Dios me preocupo de vosotros. Haré lo posible, en este mundo egoísta, para que vuestra vida cambie. Y sabéis que el cielo es ya vuestro.
Dios es al revés del mundo. Los que el mundo llama felices, porque no les falta nada, porque todo son halagos y aplausos, y viven indiferentes al mal del prójimo, ante Dios son unos infelices. Tienen que cambiar de corazón y meter dentro de su piel el corazón de Dios.
Y leemos este Evangelio cuando ya hemos celebrado la jornada de 'Manos Unidas", que nos llama a luchar contra el hambre. En este momento en el mundo, millones y millones de hombres, podrían entender como dirigida a ellos la Palabra del Evangelio. Pobres de solemnidad, hambrientos de pan y de justicia, sufridores de todo tipo, gentes que lloráis con amargura... abrid los ojos a la esperanza, sentiros felices. ¡Dios os quiere!
Y nosotros y todos los que nos tomamos en serio la causa de los pobres, podemos decir:
Felices los pobres, tendréis quien se preocupe de vosotros.
Felices los que pasáis hambre, porque trabajaremos para que esto ter- mine.
Felices los que sufrís, os ayudaremos en vuestro dolor.
Felices, porque si la vida os ha tratado mal, aquí estamos los que creemos en la justicia de Dios, y unidos a toda la gente de buen corazón, os vamos a ayudar.
