HOMILÍA
El miércoles pasado, con ese rito simbólico de la imposición de la ceniza, comenzamos el tiempo de la Cuaresma que, en palabras del Papa Francisco, “es un tiempo para renovar la Fe, la Esperanza y la Caridad. Es un tiempo para vivir el ayuno, la oración y la limosna.” Todos los días del año son buenos para volvernos a Dios y para amar al prójimo pero, en el tiempo de la Cuaresma, intensificamos más, si cabe, todo los bueno que hay en nosotros. Si la Fe, la esperanza y la caridad son débiles es bueno que, a través de la oración, de la escucha de la Palabra de Dios, del ayuno que nos hace tomar conciencia de lo que somos y de lo que estamos llamados a ser y de la limosna que nos acerca al prójimo necesitado, las fortalezcamos. Pidamos al Señor la gracia de la conversión, del perdón recibido y compartido con todos.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del libro del Génesis y nos ha hablado de esa alianza, de ese pacto de amistad que Dios quiere establecer siempre con todos y cada uno de los seres humanos. Aceptemos esta invitación del Señor. Que esta cuaresma de la pandemia termine con la superación de este mal y con el arco iris de un futuro mejor para todos.
La segunda lectura, de la primera carta de Pedro, nos ha recordado la pasión, muerte y resurrección de Jesús y de un bautismo que hemos recibido y que nos impulsa a seguir su camino. ¡Ojala que, al final del tiempo cuaresmal, vivamos la fiesta de la resurrección de Jesús con el corazón plenamente renovado!
El relato del evangelio de Marcos recoge una frase de Jesús que resume lo que debe ser la cuaresma para todo cristiano: “Convertíos y creed en el Evangelio.” Así comenzó Jesús su predicación. Para aceptar su Buena Noticia es imprescindible una conversión del corazón.
