HOMILÍA
Tras haber celebrado, en los últimos domingos, cuatro grandes fiestas como han sido la de la Ascensión de Jesús, la de Pentecostés, la Santísima Trinidad y el Corpus Christi, hoy reanudamos la larga serie de domingos del Tiempo Ordinario que fue interrumpida, en su día, por la llegada de la Cuaresma, de la Semana Santa y del tiempo Pascual. Hoy nos centramos en las lecturas propias del domingo once de este tiempo ordinario en el que seguimos los pasos de la vida cotidiana de Jesús.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del libro del Deuteronomio en el que el pueblo de Israel hace memoria de cómo la mano de Dios los rescató de la esclavitud de Egipto, los “llevó sobre alas de águila” y los trajo hacia él. Ahora es el momento de que guarden la alianza, de que le obedezcan, de que sean un “reino de sacerdotes y una nación santa”. Tomemos conciencia, nosotros también, de haber sido salvados por el Señor que nos quiere para sí. Esforcémonos por ser una nación santa, un reino de sacerdotes que le ofrecen a Dios el sacrificio de sí mismos.
La segunda lectura, de la carta a los romanos, nos ha seguido recordado el gran amor que Dios nos tiene, demostrado en que Cristo, siendo nosotros todavía pecadores, murió por nosotros. ¡Cuánto más ahora, ya redimidos, seremos salvados! Él nos amó primero. Respondamos siempre con amor a su amor. Él espera nuestra respuesta.
El relato del Evangelio de San Mateo nos ha traído unas palabras apremiantes de Jesús: «La mies es abundante, pero los trabajadores son pocos; rogad, pues, al Señor de la mies que mande trabajadores a su mies». Él eligió a los doce. Y hoy sigue llamando a otros. Pidamos al Señor que su llamada encuentre eco en el corazón de muchos. Y no pensemos solo en los demás. ¿Por qué el Señor no me puede estar llamando a mí para que sea también trabajador de su mies? Pensémoslo
