HOMILÍA
Celebradas ya las grandes fiestas de Pentecostés, Domingo de la Santísima Trinidad, el Corpus Christi y la Solemnidad del Corazón de Jesús, retomamos el ritmo de los domingos del llamado tiempo ordinario. Hoy hemos escuchado las lecturas propias del que hace el número doce. Vamos a ser llamados a contemplar al Jesús que caminaba por los pueblos y senderos de Palestina, al Jesús que curaba a los enfermos y perdonaba a los pecadores, al Jesús cercano, compañero y amigo. Sus palabras, sus milagros, tienen mucho que decirnos a todos y a cada uno de nosotros.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del profeta Jeremías. En su vida, en su corazón, hay miedo y angustia. Se siente perseguido y experimenta la debilidad y la fragilidad que todo eso le ocasiona. Pero, en su interior, sabe que no está solo. El Señor del Universo ha hecho suya su causa y le ayudará a superar los momentos malos. También nosotros, muchas veces, sentimos miedo y angustia. Nos vemos solos y no sabemos a quién recurrir. Es bueno, entonces, volvernos hacia el Señor, poner nuestra vida en sus manos y encomendarle nuestra causa. El Señor escuchará nuestra plegaria.
La segunda lectura, de San Pablo a los cristianos de Roma, ha puesto en contraposición al pecado y a la gracia, a Adán y a Cristo. Nosotros experimentamos el pecado y el mal en nuestras personas y en nuestra sociedad. Somos como Adán, pero sabemos que la gracia de Cristo está presta para derramarse sobre todos y cada uno de nosotros. Acojámonos a esa gracia. Acerquémonos al sacramento del Perdón. Experimentemos esa gracia de sabernos perdonados, amados, por un Dios que, como nos enseñó Jesús, es un Padre que busca nuestro bien.
El relato del evangelio de san Mateo ha repetido por tres veces la misma frase: “No tengáis miedo”. Como le pasaba a Jeremías en la primera lectura, hay muchas realidades y situaciones que ponen el miedo en nuestro corazón. Se nos plantean problemas, experimentamos preocupaciones, no vemos claro el futuro. Recordemos las palabras de Jesús: “No tengáis miedo.” Sabemos que sus últimas palabras, antes de ascender a los cielos, fueron estas: “Y sabed que yo estoy con vosotros todos los días, hasta el fin del mundo.” No tengamos miedo, porque estamos seguros de que, su presencia a nuestro lado, no nos ha de faltar.
