HOMILÍA
Hemos escuchado las lecturas del domingo trece del tiempo ordinario. Un domingo en la proximidad de la fiesta de los apóstoles San Pedro y San Pablo. Fueron llamados por Jesús para anunciar el evangelio por todo el mundo entonces conocido. Fundaron comunidades, escribieron cartas que hoy nos sirven de reflexión y de apoyo y, llegado el momento, dieron su vida por Jesús, murieron mártires. Hoy, todas las comunidades cristianas del mundo los veneran, los invocan y los consideran columnas de la Iglesia. Vamos a pedirles que nos ayuden a comprender el mensaje que los textos bíblicos nos han querido transmitir y a llevarlos a la práctica.
La primera lectura le hemos tomado del libro de los Reyes y nos ha contado la historia de la vocación del profeta Eliseo. A lo largo de la historia de la salvación, Dios va eligiendo a personas que se convierten en un signo de su presencia en medio del mundo. Bueno será descubrirlas, escucharlas y vivir aquello que enseñan con su palabra y con el ejemplo de su vida. La vocación, la llamada de Dios no se agota nunca. Él sigue llamando hoy a mucha gente. A unos, les llamará a ser padres y madres de familia fundando un hogar en el que los hijos tengan la oportunidad de crecer como personas y como cristianos. A otros, les llamará a ser consagrados, a ser religiosos, religiosas, sacerdotes… enteramente entregados a Él y puestos al servicio de todos. Pidamos para que, todos, tengan la oportunidad de seguir su propia vocación.
La segunda lectura, de San Pablo a los cristianos gálatas, nos ha hablado de la libertad como un don que Dios nos ha dado; del amor al prójimo, como una tarea a realizar cada día; de la necesidad de vivir en paz, de no devorarnos los unos a los otros, de estar al servicio de los demás. Reflexionemos sobre estas palabras que el apóstol dirigió, en su día, a los cristianos de Galacia, pero que hoy están destinadas a ser vividas y practicadas por cada uno de nosotros.
El relato del evangelio de San Lucas nos ha presentado un compendio de toda una serie de llamadas que fue haciendo Jesús por los caminos y los pueblos de Palestina. Como hemos visto, no todos respondieron positivamente. Unos, pusieron excusas. Otros, pidieron tiempo para pensárselo. No faltó tampoco el que, queriendo responder positivamente, siguió, sin embargo, mirando hacia atrás, añorando lo que tenía y dejaba. Cuando Jesús llama, es exigente. Quizás, por ello, son pocas las vocaciones en los tiempos actuales. Pero tenemos la clave para que sean muchas y buenas. La clave nos la dio el mismo Jesús cuando proclamó: “Rogad al dueño de la mies que mande obreros a su mies.” La oración es la clave. La oración de todos como comunidad y de, cada uno de nosotros, en particular. Recemos por las vocaciones.
