HOMILÍA
Hemos escuchado las lecturas correspondientes al domingo décimo tercero del Tiempo Ordinario. La primera lectura la hemos tomado del segundo libro de los Reyes. Eliseo, un profeta de Israel, va ejerciendo su misión de una parte a otra. El camino, con frecuencia, es demasiado largo y las condiciones son penosas. No le resulta siempre fácil encontrar un lugar para comer y descansar. Por eso, el gesto de esa mujer que le ofrece su casa, que le da de comer, que le facilita el descanso es un gesto valioso que despierta en el profeta el reconocimiento y la gratitud.
A la luz de esta primera lectura, deberemos ser capaces de desarrollar actitudes de acogida y de hospitalidad hacia el que viene de fuera, hacia el que las circunstancias le ha hecho encontrarse con nosotros. Practiquemos también la hospitalidad y la acogida hacia la gente con la cual convivimos día a día. Que nuestro hogar pueda ser siempre un lugar de encuentro al que cualquiera puede acudir con confianza. Tratemos de ser amables unos con otros. Obsequiémonos frecuentemente con palabras de aliento, de ánimo, de estimulo, de esperanza. Derribemos los muros de la incomprensión, de la desconfianza, del recelo. Descubramos juntos el arte de saber convivir en paz y en armonía.
El relato evangélico lo hemos tomado de San Mateo. El pasaje de hoy está dividido en dos partes claramente diferenciadas. La primera de ellas ha hecho referencia al seguimiento, siempre exigente, de Jesús y nos ha venido a decir que este seguimiento no se puede hacer de cualquier manera, no se puede hacer a medias.
En la segunda parte de este pasaje evangélico, Jesús parece conectar con el mensaje de la primera lectura. Como ocurría en tiempos de Eliseo, Jesús va a enviar misioneros, mensajeros de su palabra a todos los pueblos de la tierra. Los que reciban y acojan a estos misioneros, estarán recibiendo y acogiendo al mismo Cristo. Hoy nosotros nos preguntamos cómo podemos colaborar con los que tienen el encargo y la misión de proclamar el evangelio. Algo que siempre está a nuestro alcance es la oración confiada y perseverante por ellos. Una carta puede ser también para ellos como ese vaso de agua que se da al sediento. Algo que les va a impulsar a una mayor entrega, a una mayor generosidad. Un vaso de agua que, en palabras de Jesús, no quedará sin recompensa. Vamos a continuar la celebración de la Eucaristía confesando juntos nuestra Fe.
