HOMILÍA
El verano nos trae el calor, el sabor de las vacaciones, los viajes para encontrarnos con familiares y amigos, la felicidad de descubrir lugares nuevos, el desconectar de ese trabajo muchas veces agobiante, el saber que hay una alternativa al cansancio de cada día. Pero el verano también nos sigue trayendo la Palabra de ese Dios que se preocupa de todos y de cada uno de nosotros y que nos invita a encontrarnos con él para sentir ese alivio y esa paz que tanto podemos necesitar, tal y como nos decía Jesús en el relato del Evangelio.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del profeta Zacarías que pone en boca de Dios una llamada a la felicidad, al gozo y a la alegría. Muchas veces los creyentes hemos identificado al Señor con la seriedad cuando no con la tristeza. Palabras, como las que hemos escuchado en esta lectura, nos demuestran que el Señor quiere nuestra felicidad y, no solo en el más allá, sino también en el más aquí, mientras caminamos por esta vida, mientras trabajamos, luchamos y nos esforzamos por salir adelante en compañía de tantos compañeros de peregrinación.
La segunda lectura, de San Pablo a los Romanos, nos ha recordado una frase que debiera quedar grabada, con fuerza, en nuestros corazones: “Y si el Espíritu del que resucitó a Jesús de entre los muertos habita en vosotros, el que resucitó de entre los muertos a Cristo Jesús también dará vida a vuestros cuerpos mortales, por el mismo Espíritu que habita en vosotros.” Pidamos a Jesús que nos conceda ese Espíritu.
El relato del Evangelio de san Mateo nos ha hablado de un Dios que sabe de nuestros agobios, cansancios y preocupaciones y que nos dice: “Venid a mi todos los que estáis cansados y agobiados y yo os aliviaré”. ¡Qué bien nos viene escuchar estas palabras de Jesús! Pidamos que, ese alivio, sea una bendición cotidiana para nosotros y para todos.
