HOMILÍA
El verano va avanzando. Muchos están de vacaciones. Las fiestas de nuestro pueblo están ya a las puertas y, en este domingo, XVI del tiempo ordinario, hemos escuchado unas palabras destinadas a animar nuestra fe, a orientar nuestros pasos. Recordarlas de nuevo nos harán bien. Preguntémonos qué es lo que nos pueden estar diciendo y pidamos al Señor la fuerza necesaria para ponernos en camino. El tiempo que dediquemos a la reflexión y a la plegaria no será tiempo perdido. Nos ayudará a encontrarnos con nosotros mismos y a buscar a ese Dios que nos habla a través de la palabra proclamada que llega hasta nosotros. Dejémonos interpelar por ella.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del profeta Jeremías. Como todos los profetas, se hace eco de lo que el Señor le hace ver y habla, con fuerza, de cosas que deben ser corregidas. En esta ocasión, el profeta habla de esos pastores, de esos guías de la comunidad que, en lugar de proteger y de guardar el rebaño a ellos confiado, han descuidado su misión, han dejado que el rebaño encomendado se dispersase, se perdiera. El profeta pone en boca de Dios un mensaje de esperanza: es verdad que hay malos pastores, pero Él suscitará pastores según su corazón que no buscarán su interés y que dedicaran todas sus fuerzas a guardar, a guiar y a proteger a las personas de la comunidad que les han sido encomendadas. Recemos hoy y siempre por los pastores encargados de gobernar a las distintas comunidades cristianas para que, como el apóstol Santiago, estén dispuestos a dar su vida por ellas.
La segunda lectura, escrita a los fieles de Éfeso, nos ha puesto sobre el tapete la existencia, en aquel entonces, de dos pueblos: el pueblo judío y el pueblo pagano, muchas veces enfrentados el uno contra el otro. El mensaje de esta lectura nos ha hablado de cómo Jesús ha hecho de los dos pueblos uno solo, los ha reconciliado, los ha unido con su sangre derramada en la cruz. Él ha muerto por todos. Hagamos nosotros todo lo posible para continuar esta tarea de unidad, de reconciliación y de paz en nuestra familia, en nuestro pueblo.
El relato del evangelio de San Marcos nos ha recordado a un Jesús, profundamente humano, que es consciente de cómo los suyos necesitan tiempo para el descanso, para ellos mismos y les invita a “marcharse de vacaciones a un sitio tranquilo y apartado”. Pero, por lo que hemos visto, no fue posible, en esta ocasión, porque la gente buscaba a Jesús. Y Él, en lugar de enfadarse o sentir contrariedad, se puso a “enseñarles con calma” a aquellos que estaban sedientos de su palabra. ¡Cuánto nos enseñan las palabras de Jesús invitando al descanso y su actitud dejándose llevar por el amor a la gente y renunciando a su derecho a unas merecidas vacaciones en compañía de sus amigos!
