HOMILÍA
El verano es tiempo de vacaciones, de descanso. Tiempo para encontrarnos con los amigos y los familiares. Tiempo para los viajes, las excursiones, las salidas a la montaña o la playa. Sabemos que el Jesús que nos invita a dar lo mejor de nosotros mismos en el trabajo, también es partidario de las vacaciones, como aquella vez que les dijo a los suyos: “Vamos a un sitio tranquilo y apartado para descansar un poco”; porque, dice el evangelio, “eran tantos los que iban a y venían que no encontraban tiempo ni para comer.” El verano, no lo olvidemos, es tiempo también para estar a solas con Jesús, allí donde nos encontremos, para hablarle, para escucharle.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del libro del Génesis y los hechos que nos ha relatado parece que hablan de verano, de calor, de tiendas de lona junto a una encina. Abrahán es el protagonista que, siguiendo las sagradas leyes de la hospitalidad de la época, acoge a tres desconocidos. Todos sabemos, porque así nos lo enseñó el propio Jesús, que cada vez que acogemos a alguien, lo acogemos a él. Practiquemos nosotros también la sagrada ley de la hospitalidad. Acojamos al que viene de fuera, al que tiene una pena que contar, al que necesita un hombro en el que apoyarse y un corazón que le escuche, le anime y el dé confianza. Y estemos atentos al paso de Dios por nuestra vida que puede llegar por distintos caminos y de distintas formas.
La segunda lectura la hemos tomado de la carta que el Apóstol Pablo escribió a la comunidad cristiana de Colosas. Esa comunidad, recordamos, para la que fue escrito ese himno que leíamos el domingo pasado en el que aparecía Jesús como el más grande, el primero, el más importante, el que era imagen de Dios invisible. Hoy el apóstol recuerda que si Jesús, como cabeza de la Iglesia, aportó su pasión y muerte en la cruz, nosotros, que somos sus miembros, debemos poner también de nuestra parte todos los esfuerzos, dolores y sufrimientos incluidos, para que Jesús sea conocido y amado por todos.
El relato del evangelio de Lucas nos ha recordado a Marta y María, hermanas de Lázaro, que vivían en Betania, en ese lugar en el que Jesús siempre se encontró entre amigos y al que se retiraba a descansar cuando lo necesitaba. Hemos visto la actividad desbordante de una Marta, inquieta y nerviosa, y la paz de una María que había sabido escoger, en palabras de Jesús, la mejor parte. Quizás, lo que el Señor nos quiere decir con este episodio es que debemos ser trabajadores, esforzarnos en hacer las cosas, sí, pero que debemos encontrar también tiempo para el descanso, tiempo para nosotros mismos y para estar con Él. En definitiva, que todos debemos tener algo de “Martas” y algo de “Marías”. Acojamos a Jesús en nuestra casa como ellas hacían.
