HOMILÍA
En camino hacia la celebración del Apóstol Santiago, cuya fiesta conmemoraremos el próximo domingo, hoy hemos escuchado las lecturas propias de este domingo, diez y seis, del tiempo ordinario. Un domingo que nos llega en pleno mes de vacaciones para muchos y en el que tenemos la oportunidad de encontrarnos cristianos de aquí con otros venidos de los más variados puntos de la geografía. Juntos, unidos todos, somos invitados por el Señor a reflexionar sobre la enseñanza contenida en esos textos bíblicos que han llegado hasta nosotros.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del profeta Jeremías. Él es consciente de que hay buenos y malos pastores en medio del pueblo. Buenos son aquellos que cuidan de sus ovejas, que se preocupan por todas y cada una de ellas, que las apacientan con dedicación. Con pastores así, ninguna de ellas se perderá. Malos son aquellos que, con su desinterés, dejan que las ovejas se dispersen y se pierdan. Vamos a pedir que siempre podamos contar en la Iglesia con buenos pastores. Recemos por ellos.
La segunda lectura, de San Pablo a los cristianos de Éfeso nos ha hablado de cómo Cristo, con su muerte en la Cruz, ha hecho posible la paz y la reconciliación entre los cristianos procedentes del judaísmo y aquellos otros que se han ido incorporando a la Iglesia desde el paganismo. Pidamos por la unidad de todos los cristianos; que nuestro diferente origen, no nos haga olvidar que somos un solo pueblo.
El relato del evangelio de Marcos nos ha presentado a un Jesús preocupado por los suyos, que se saben cansados y agobiados después de haber dedicado todos sus esfuerzos a la evangelización. Quiere que descansen pero, la insistencia de muchos, hace que el propio Jesús deje a un lado el merecido descanso para ocuparse de esas ovejas sin pastor.
