HOMILÍA
En plenas fiestas de nuestro pueblo, cuando somos llamados a cumplir con nuestros deberes ciudadanos, en vísperas de la fiesta de nuestro Patrón, el apóstol Santiago, hemos sido convocados para celebrar la eucaristía de este domingo, diez y seis del tiempo ordinario. En la medida en que podamos, dediquemos tiempo a la reflexión sobre esa Palabra de Dios que acabamos de escuchar.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del libro de la Sabiduría y nos ha descrito algunas de las características de ese Dios de cuyas manos salimos un día y en cuyos brazos esperamos descansar al final: cuida de todos, juzga con justicia y con moderación, es indulgente. Nos enseña que el justo debe ser humano y nos regala la esperanza y el arrepentimiento. Si Dios es así, ¿cómo debe ser nuestro comportamiento y hasta qué punto la confianza en él debe brotar con fuerza en nuestros corazones?
La segunda lectura, de San Pablo a los romanos, nos ha recordado una gran verdad: muchas veces no sabemos pedir lo que nos conviene, no sabemos rezar bien y es bueno, entonces, que nos dejemos llevar por la ayuda del Espíritu Santo. Jesús, cuando nos enseñó la oración del Padre Nuestro, nos dijo que pidiéramos expresamente que se hiciera la voluntad del Padre. “Hágase tu voluntad” es la mejor forma de hacer una buena oración. Él quiere lo mejor para nosotros.
El relato del evangelio de San Mateo nos ha hablado de nuevo de un sembrador que, con el paso del tiempo, se da cuenta de cómo, junto al trigo, aparece también la cizaña y que no es bueno tratar de quitar esa cizaña antes de que llegue el tiempo de la cosecha porque podríamos arrancar también el trigo. El trigo convive con la cizaña como lo malo convive con lo bueno. Dejemos que sea Dios el que separe a uno de otro.
