HOMILÍA
Acabamos de escuchar las lecturas correspondientes al domingo décimo séptimo del Tiempo Ordinario. La primera de ellas la hemos tomado del libro del Génesis. El texto de hoy es la continuación del que nos fue proclamado el domingo pasado. En aquella ocasión, veíamos a Abrahán recibiendo a tres misteriosos personajes. Una acogida hecha según las leyes de la hospitalidad de la época que fue premiada con la promesa del nacimiento de un hijo. El pasaje sigue diciéndonos que aquellos tres personajes se dirigían a Sodoma y Gomorra, dos famosas ciudades conocidas en la antigüedad por las costumbres depravadas de sus habitantes. Y van hacia ellas para comprobar esas situaciones injustas y proceder a su destrucción.
No es momento este de analizar los hechos que realmente tuvieron lugar ni de comprobar qué otros son producto de la leyenda que rodeó a ambas ciudades. En lo que ahora nos interesa hacer hincapié es en la actitud de Abrahán que eleva su plegaria, que intercede por los moradores de aquellas ciudades en base a ese pequeño grupo de inocentes, de justos que allí hay también. Esta súplica de Abrahán es una súplica constante, atrevida; también confiada, desinteresada, buscando únicamente el bien de otros que, en gran medida, son desconocidos, extraños, enemigos potenciales incluso. ¿Qué nos dice a nosotros esta lectura? Algo muy importante: que la plegaria, que la súplica confiada es una necesidad del corazón, que es una parte esencial que no puede faltar en nuestra vivencia como creyentes.
El Evangelio también nos ha hablado de la necesidad de orar, de la necesidad de entrar en contacto personal con el Señor, bien sea a través de oraciones ya hechas como es el caso del Padre nuestro o de esas otras palabras que surgen espontáneas del corazón. Una oración que debe tener una serie de cualidades. Por medio de esa pequeña parábola, que nos ha contado Jesús, descubrimos que la oración tiene que ser constante y perseverante. También confiada: "¿Qué padre entre vosotros cuando el hijo le pide pan, le da una piedra? Pues si vosotros que sois malos, sabéis dar cosas buenas a vuestros hijos ¿Cuánto más vuestro Padre del cielo dará el Espíritu Santo a los que se lo pidan?” argumentaba Jesús.
Todos estamos llamados a ser conscientes de cómo, en la oración, no nos dirigimos a ningún mayordomo a nuestro servicio, sino a un Padre que nos quiere adultos en la Fe y en nuestras relaciones con Él. Tengamos este firme convencimiento: nuestra súplica encuentra siempre eco en su corazón. Y también: Él está siempre dispuesto a darnos la fuerza necesaria para afrontar las dificultades de cada día.
