HOMILÍA
En este último domingo del mes de julio, diez y siete del tiempo ordinario, hemos escuchado unos textos bíblicos del antiguo y del nuevo testamento. ¿Qué podemos sacar de cada uno de ellos? ¿Qué nos ha querido mostrar el Señor? ¿Qué aspectos de nuestra vida están llamados a cambiar? Bueno es que los revisemos de nuevo y que los contrastemos con nuestras actitudes y comportamientos.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del primer libro de los Reyes. Al rey Salomón se le ofrece la oportunidad de recibir del Señor aquellas cosas que más desea. Y, pudiendo pedir riquezas, honores y el poder sobre sus enemigos, solicita un corazón atento para juzgar a su pueblo y discernir entre el bien y el mal. Pide la sabiduría que necesita para gobernar a su pueblo. El Señor premia esta actitud dándole las dos cosas. Aprendamos de Salomón a pedir al Señor lo que más nos conviene, lo que más necesitamos.
La segunda lectura, de la carta de San Pablo a los romanos, nos ha recordado una frase que debiéramos hacer nuestra: “A los que aman a Dios todo les sirve para el bien”. Abramos nuestro corazón al amor de Dios y al amor a Dios. Si buscamos amarle con sinceridad de corazón, todo lo que hagamos nos servirá para el bien.
El relato del evangelio de San Mateo nos ha contado unas parábolas que indican la importancia que tiene y que debemos darle al Reino de Dios, al Reino de los Cielos. Tanta es su importancia que debiéramos estar dispuestos a darlo todo para formar parte de él, para trabajar en él, para extenderlo por todo el mundo. Trabajar por el Reino de Dios es hacer posible un mundo de hermanos que se sientan hijos de ese Dios que es Padre. Cada vez que hagamos el bien, que nos pongamos al servicio del otro, estamos construyendo ese Reino de Dios
