HOMILÍA
Hemos escuchado las lecturas propias del domingo diez y ocho del tiempo ordinario. Bueno es que tanto hoy, como esta semana en la que vamos a entrar, lo dediquemos a reflexionar sobre lo que el Señor nos ha querido decir. Seguro que, a poco tiempo que invirtamos en ello, sacaremos fruto abundante que nos servirá para que nuestra vida se vaya pareciendo más a la de Jesús.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del libro del Eclesiastés, un libro del Antiguo Testamento que recoge el sentir de muchos hombres y mujeres tanto de aquella época, como de la que nos toca vivir hoy a nosotros. A veces nos preguntamos para qué sirve todo el esfuerzo y la lucha que ponemos en lo que hacemos. En ocasiones, el pesimismo se apodera de nosotros. Pareciera como si lo que decimos y hacemos no sirviera para mucho. A pesar de todo, el Señor nos bendice cada día y nada es inútil ante sus ojos.
La segunda lectura, de San Pablo a los Colosenses, nos ha recordado que somos creyentes en un Jesús Resucitado y que estamos llamados a decir y a hacer “las cosas de allá arriba”, aquellas que nos hablan de ese Dios que nos espera en el cielo. Una de las cosas que nos recordaba el apóstol era que no cabe entre los cristianos la mentira, la falsedad, el engaño. Al final, nos espera a todos el mismo Cristo.
El evangelio de San Lucas nos ha enseñado que la codicia, el deseo de poseer, de buscar la acumulación de bienes, no nos lleva a buen puerto. No debemos empeñarnos en ser ricos ante los hombres y ante la sociedad. Más bien, debemos intentar ser ricos ante Dios. Y se es rico ante Dios cuando damos, cuando compartimos, cuando ayudamos, cuando hacemos el bien. Lo bueno que hacemos es lo único que nos llevaremos al otro mundo y lo que nos abrirá las puertas del Paraíso.
