HOMILÍA
Gran parte del mensaje que nos han dejado las lecturas de este domingo es la continuación del que nos dejaron las de la pasada semana. Para vivir, necesitamos el pan de cada día en nuestras mesas y ese otro pan espiritual que aliente nuestro corazón; el pan que pedimos en el Padre Nuestro y el pan de la Eucaristía en el que Jesús se nos ofrece como pan de vida; el pan compartido con el hermano necesitado y ese otro que recibimos en comunidad cuando nos acercamos a comulgar. ¡Ojalá que no nos falte nunca ninguno de los dos!
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del primer libro de los Reyes. Elías es un profeta que proclama la Palabra de Dios y alienta la esperanza de su pueblo. Pero no lo tiene fácil. A veces, es perseguido y tiene que huir, buscando dónde esconderse. El desánimo se apodera de su corazón y se siente sin fuerzas para cumplir con su misión. Incluso se desea la muerte. Pero, el Dios que le llamó, no le deja solo. Y le proporciona pan y agua que renuevan sus fuerzas y que le hace brotar el ánimo y la ilusión para seguir adelante. Cuando nos llegué a nosotros ese desánimo, pensemos que nuestro Dios es el mismo Dios de Elías que renueva nuestras fuerzas y alienta nuestra esperanza.
La segunda lectura, de San Pablo a los Efesios, no encierra dentro de sí cosas ininteligibles. Todo es claro y diáfano. Recordemos: “Desterrad de vosotros la amargura, la ira, los enfados e insultos y toda maldad. Sed buenos, comprensivos, perdonándoos unos a otros como Dios os perdonó en Cristo. Sed imitadores de Dios. Vivid en el amor.”
El relato del Evangelio de Juan nos ha recordado, una vez más, que Jesús es el Pan de Vida. El Señor nos hace una llamada a recibirle con frecuencia en la comunión y a que esa comunión sea llevada a los enfermos, a los que nos pueden participar en la Eucaristía dominical.
