HOMILÍA
Tras haber celebrado el domingo pasado la fiesta de la Transfiguración del Señor, retomamos hoy las lecturas propias del tiempo ordinario. Concretamente del que hace el número diez y nueve. Y lo hacemos en vísperas de la fiesta de la Asunción de Nuestra Señora a los cielos, el día quince. Un día en el que nuestra Diócesis de Jaca nos invita a colaborar en la tradicional Colecta “Pro Reconstrucción de Templos.” Bueno es que tomemos conciencia de la necesidad de mantener con dignidad nuestros lugares de culto.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del libro de los Reyes y nos ha contado un episodio que tuvo como protagonista especial al profeta Elías. Siempre a la escucha de la Palabra de Dios, descubre que él se manifiesta, no tanto en los acontecimientos extraordinarios como los huracanes, los terremotos y el fuego sino, más bien, en la suave brisa, en el susurro, en el silencio de la noche. Busquémosle en la paz del corazón.
La segunda lectura, de San Pablo a los romanos, nos ha venido a decir que Dios se dio a conocer en el Antiguo Testamento al pueblo de Israel y, en el nuevo Testamento, a todos, a través de la Iglesia. El apóstol sufre porque comprueba como su pueblo judío que recibió el don de la ley, el culto y las promesas, los patriarcas y hasta el mismo Cristo no termina de aceptar a este Cristo y de incorporarse a la Iglesia.
El evangelio de San Mateo nos ha recordado el episodio de la tempestad calmada. El impetuoso Pedro se lanza, desde la barca, al mar sacudido por las olas y, al sentir el viento y la tempestad, siente que se hunde y grita: “Señor, sálvame.” El brazo fuerte de Jesús acude en su socorro y lo incorpora de nuevo a la barca no sin antes haber aplacado el viento. También nosotros nos vemos, en ocasiones, sacudidos por las olas, el viento y la oscuridad. Digamos como Pedro: “Señor, sálvame”
