HOMILÍA
Tras haber celebrado el domingo pasado la Solemnidad de Cristo Rey, hoy hemos escuchado las lecturas propias del primer domingo de Adviento, el tiempo que precede a la Navidad, el tiempo de la espera y de la esperanza, el tiempo de la conversión. Bueno es que, ya desde el principio, nos metamos de lleno en la escucha de esa Palabra de Dios que se nos va a ir proclamando día tras día; que dediquemos tiempo a la oración, a la reflexión. Contaremos, como todos los años, con la ayuda y la compañía de Santa María, nuestra Madre a quien recordaremos con ese título entrañable de Inmaculada, sin mancha, sin pecado.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del profeta Jeremías. Él nos habla de un futuro en el que se hará presente un “vástago legítimo que hará justicia y derecho en la tierra.” Reconoceremos en él al Jesús que nace en la Navidad. Hagamos que nuestro corazón le espere practicando la justicia, haciendo el bien, llenando de alegría el corazón de los que están a nuestro lado, poniendo esperanza en tantos hermanos nuestros que la han perdido, haciendo el bien, construyendo la paz.
La segunda lectura, de la carta de San Pablo a los cristianos de Tesalónica, nos ha recordado que el amor es el ambiente en el que nos debemos mover. El amor que recibimos de Dios y de los demás y el amor con el que les respondemos a todos ellos. Pidamos al Señor que nos ayude a vencer nuestros egoísmos personales y colectivos, nuestras perezas, nuestras indiferencias.
El relato del evangelio de Lucas nos ha hablado de ese final del mundo y de la historia con tintes un tanto dramáticos. Pero hay una frase que nos abre a la esperanza. Decía Jesús: “Entonces veréis al Hijo del hombre venir en una nube, con gran poder y gloria. Cuando empiece a suceder esto, levantaos, alzad la cabeza; se acerca vuestra liberación”.
