HOMILÍA
Hemos escuchado las lecturas propias del primer domingo de adviento del ciclo C, el que nos llevará de la mano del evangelista San Lucas a conocer y a amar más y mejor a Jesucristo. El adviento, como sabemos, es el tiempo de la espera, de la esperanza, de la vigilancia, de la llamada a vivir con responsabilidad. Dentro de unos días, celebraremos con gozo la fiesta del nacimiento de Jesús y eso requiere que nos preparemos, que tomemos conciencia de lo que vamos a vivir, que cambiemos actitudes, comportamientos, formas de ser y de pensar. La navidad la tenemos que experimentar ya desde ahora. Pensemos en ella, miremos en nuestro interior para ver si nuestro corazón reúne las condiciones necesarias para convertirse en un portal de Belén. Y, en estos días previos, descubramos también necesidades y problemas, penas y tristezas, dificultades y pobrezas de quienes viven a nuestro lado.
La mejor forma de celebrar la navidad es compartiendo, ayudando, haciendo el bien, siendo solidarios.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del profeta Jeremías. Nos ha hablado de un vástago legítimo, de un mesías que “hará justicia y derecho en la tierra”. ¡Cómo no pensar, al escuchar estas palabras, en ese niño que nacerá en Belén, que será uno más entre los suyos; que nos hablará del amor como del mandamiento más importante, que morirá en una cruz por amor a todos y a cada uno de nosotros! En este tiempo de preparación, preocupémonos también, en la medida de nuestras posibilidades, de trabajar por la justicia y del derecho.
La segunda lectura tenía como destinatarios a los habitantes de Tesalónica y como autor a San Pablo. Fue, quizás, el primer documento escrito del nuevo testamento. El apóstol les insiste en el amor que han recibido del Padre Dios y del amor que deben vivir los unos con los otros para que, cuando llegue Jesús, los encuentre preparados. ¡Ojala que el amor sea también, para cada uno de nosotros, el aceite que mantenga viva la llama de nuestra espera! Jesús vendrá a nuestros corazones, a nuestras casas, a nuestras vidas, si Dios y los demás ocupan un lugar preferente. Vivamos con intensidad, estos días, el amor que distinguía a aquellos primeros cristianos.
El relato del evangelista San Lucas, nuestro guía principal a partir de este domingo, nos ha puesto sobre el tapete, no la primera venida de Jesús, sino la que tendrá lugar al final de los tiempos. Sin embargo, tanto para la una como para la otra, es necesaria esa llamada a la vivir con responsabilidad, conscientes del momento que vivimos. Es necesaria también la vigilancia, el estar preparados, el no perder el tiempo como si Jesús no hubiera de llegar algún día. Vivamos con paz estos días previos. Dediquemos tiempo a la oración. Reflexionemos.
