HOMILÍA
Hemos escuchado las lecturas propias del primer domingo de Adviento del ciclo A. Un ciclo que, en esta ocasión, recorreremos de la mano del Evangelista San Mateo. El Adviento mira hacia la Navidad, hacia la fiesta del nacimiento de Jesús. Por eso, el adviento es tiempo de preparación, de conversión personal y comunitaria, de espera, de vigilancia. Es tiempo de oración, de reflexión, de participación en la eucaristía, en las Vigilias, en los encuentros que se programen con otros miembros de la comunidad. Cada uno, ha de procurar ir haciendo de su corazón un Portal de Belén lo más limpio y digno posible para que, el Jesús que nació en Belén hace dos mil años, pueda nacer también en su corazón, en su persona, en su vida.
Las lecturas de este domingo, más que de la venida de Jesús en la Navidad, nos han hablado de esa otra venida suya al final del mundo, de la historia. La primera de ellas la hemos tomado del profeta Isaías. Él sueña con un futuro mejor en el que todos los pueblos mirarán hacia el Señor y se decidirán a construir una tierra en la que, las espadas y las otras armas de la guerra, se tornarán en instrumentos de progreso y desarrollo para los seres humanos. Esta lectura nos hace también una llamada a caminar a la luz del Señor. Hagámoslo así estos días.
La carta de San Pablo a los Romanos nos ha hecho otra llamada a salir de las tinieblas o, lo que es lo mismo, a dejar de obrar mal, a actuar con dignidad. Nuestro comportamiento ha de ser coherente con lo que esperamos, con ese Dios que viene a nuestro encuentro hecho niño en Belén o en el momento de nuestra muerte o al final de la historia. ¡Ojala que nuestra conducta sea la propia de un cristiano enamorado de ese Jesús al que esperamos!
El relato del Evangelio de San Mateo nos ha hecho también una llamada a estar en vela, a vivir vigilantes, para que, el día de la venida del Señor, nos encuentre preparados, bien dispuestos para recibirle. ¡Qué bueno sería que, en este tiempo del Adviento, encontráramos momentos para acercarnos al Sacramento del Perdón, para hacer oración ante el Sagrario de nuestra Parroquia, para dirigirnos a Santa María con la oración del Rosario, para acordarnos de los necesitados, para recibir a Jesús en la Eucaristía, para leer la Palabra de Dios, para hacer gestos visibles de solidaridad, para hacer todo el bien que podamos!
