HOMILÍA
Después de haber recibido, el pasado miércoles, la ceniza sobre nuestras cabezas en señal de penitencia y de hacer de ese rito la puerta de entrada al tiempo cuaresmal, hoy hemos escuchado las lecturas correspondientes al primer domingo de este tiempo. El Señor nos invita, nos urge, a aprovechar estos días para abrirnos a su gracia, a su amor. No lo dejemos pasar sin pena ni gloria. Procuremos revisar nuestra vida, nuestro comportamiento, nuestras actitudes. Pongámonos a la escucha de la Palabra de Dios, dediquemos tiempo a la oración y a la reflexión, participemos en la eucaristía frecuentemente, acerquémonos al sacramento del perdón, abramos nuestro corazón y nuestro bolsillo a tantos hermanos necesitados. Pidamos al Señor que sepamos construir una iglesia y una sociedad más fraterna, más solidaria.
La primera lectura le hemos tomado del libro del Génesis, el primero de los libros de la Biblia que nos habla, utilizando un lenguaje poético, de los primeros pasos de la humanidad. Uno de esos primeros pasos fue la historia del primer pecado, de la primera ruptura de la amistad entre los seres humanos y su Creador que desembocaría también en un enfrentamiento entre ellos. Y es que todo pecado rompe la armonía que estamos llamados a vivir con el Señor, con los hermanos y con la naturaleza. Nuestros pequeños y grandes pecados de hoy inciden, todavía más, en esa ruptura de la armonía.
La segunda lectura, de San Pablo a los Romanos, ha comparado a Adán con Cristo. Uno, inició la historia del pecado. El otro, la historia de la redención, de la salvación. Desde nuestra situación de pecadores, dirijamos nuestra mirada hacia ese Cristo Redentor y Salvador. Él nos ayudará a vencer el mal que hay en nosotros y nos abrirá a una vida de gracia y de salvación.
El relato del evangelio de San Mateo nos ha recordado las tentaciones a las que fue sometido el propio Jesús. Ante él se presentaba una situación idílica. Para alcanzarla, sólo tenía que plegarse a las exigencias del tentador. Jesús supo vencer esas tentaciones y alejar de sí al que se las presentaba en bandeja. También nosotros somos tentados muchas veces. Con las palabras del Padre Nuestro, digámosle al Señor: “No nos dejes caer en la tentación”. Y con las del Ave María, pidamos a la Virgen: “Ruega por nosotros, pecadores, ahora y en la hora de nuestra muerte”.
