HOMILÍA
En el camino hacia la Navidad, hoy hemos escuchado las lecturas propias del segundo domingo de Adviento. Son muchas las cosas que nos han dicho, las indicaciones que nos han hecho. Y todas ellas muy importantes y muy necesarias. No es posible comentarlas detenidamente en esta homilía. Por eso es bueno que hoy, y a lo largo de la semana, podamos volver sobre ellas, releerlas, meditarlas, reflexionarlas.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del profeta Isaías. Y comenzaba con una frase realmente impactante: “Consolad, consolad a mi pueblo”. ¡Cuántas personas lo están pasando mal en nuestro mundo y también muy cerca de nosotros! ¡Cuántas lágrimas se derraman ante la impotencia que provocan realidades como la pandemia y tantas otras enfermedades! ¡Cuánto dolor por la falta de trabajo, por las preocupaciones y angustias que estamos viviendo! En este tiempo del Adviento recordemos este mandato del Señor: “Consolad, consolad a mi pueblo”. Hagamos todo lo posible por allanar el camino de los que sufren a nuestro lado. Seamos un punto de apoyo para todos aquellos que, a nuestro alrededor, nos necesitan.
La segunda lectura, de la carta de San Pedro, nos ha recordado cómo la paciencia de Dios es nuestra salvación. ¡Qué santa y piadosa ha de ser nuestra vida sabiéndonos hijos de ese Dios que nos ha prometido unos cielos nuevos y una tierra nueva! Que el Jesús, a quien estamos esperando, nos infunda un profundo espíritu de renovación.
El relato del evangelio de Marcos nos ha presentado la figura de Juan el Bautista. Un hombre austero, sencillo, que predica un bautismo de conversión. Intuye que el Mesías está a la puerta y nos urge a un cambio de vida, a preparar esos caminos que nos ayudarán a encontrarnos con él. Que la Virgen Inmaculada nos ayude también en este empeño.
