HOMILÍA
Un domingo más, la Palabra de Dios ha vuelto a resonar en nuestros oídos y en nuestro corazón. Es hora de preguntarnos qué es lo que el Señor nos quiere comunicar. Él siempre tiene un mensaje para cada uno de nosotros. Si recordamos lo escuchado, si lo reflexionamos…encontraremos, sin lugar a dudas, las palabras que necesitamos, los pensamientos que nos predispongan a las buenas acciones y el impulso para llevarlas a cabo. Pidamos al Señor que su palabra pase siempre del oído al corazón.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del libro del profeta Isaías. El nos habla de un misterioso personaje, un tal Sobna, que al parecer era encargado, mayordomo, responsable de los asuntos de su señor y que, un buen día, es despedido de su puesto por no cumplir como debiera con la tarea encomendada y es sustituido por otro. Pensemos que también a nosotros el Señor nos encomienda una tarea en esta vida. No somos dueños ni propietarios. Somos encargados, responsables, mayordomos que deben dar cuenta de lo encomendado. Pidamos al Señor que nos dé su fuerza para responder a lo que Él espera de nosotros. En la oración de cada día descubriremos lo que Dios nos pide y encontraremos esa fuerza que necesitamos para llevarlo a cabo.
La segunda lectura, de la carta que el Apóstol Pablo escribió a la comunidad cristiana de Roma, nos ha recordado unas palabras que son un himno de alabanza y de glorificación; un reconocimiento de la grandeza y del poder de Dios: “origen, guía y meta del universo”. Nuestras oraciones suelen ser oraciones de petición. Pedimos porque son muchas las necesidades o los problemas a los que tenemos que hacer frente. Pero es bueno que, en ocasiones, nuestra plegaria sea también un canto de alabanza, de acción de gracias, de reconocimiento de lo que recibimos del Señor que es omnipotente y misericordioso.
El relato del evangelio lo conocemos muy bien. Jesús hace a los suyos dos preguntas. Una, relativamente fácil de responder: ¿Quién dice la gente que soy yo? La segunda, más complicada y comprometedora: Y vosotros ¿Quién decís que soy yo? Sabemos la respuesta que dio Pedro y la promesa, por parte de Jesús, de ponerle al frente de la Iglesia cuando Él faltara: “Tú eres Pedro y sobre esta piedra edificaré mi Iglesia.” Estos días tenemos entre nosotros a un sucesor de Pedro, al Papa Benedicto XVI, que nos hace, en nombre de Jesús, la pregunta que nos compromete: “Y vosotros, y tú, ¿quién decís, quien dices que es Jesús? Hagámonos muchas veces esa pregunta. ¿Quién es Jesús para mí? ¿Qué lugar ocupa en mi vida? ¿Qué importancia doy a sus palabras, a sus enseñanzas? ¡Ojala que las respuestas a estas preguntas nos ocupen tiempo y lugar en esta semana que tenemos por delante!
