HOMILÍA
Tras haber celebrado, el pasado domingo, la fiesta de la Asunción de Nuestra Señora a los cielos, volvemos al ritmo normal de los domingos de este tiempo ordinario en el que estamos. Concretamente, hemos escuchado las lecturas del domingo veintiuno. Lecturas que nos plantean interrogantes, que nos invitan a la reflexión. Bueno es que no nos limitemos a escucharlas y que tratemos de ver qué es lo que el Señor nos puede estar diciendo a todos y a cada uno de nosotros.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del libro de Josué. En algún momento se planteó el dilema de a qué dioses servir. Muchos se sentían atraídos por los dioses de los pueblos en los que habitaban. Al final, el pueblo comprendió que debían seguir y servir al Dios que los había sacado de la esclavitud de Egipto, aunque sus leyes y mandamientos fueran difíciles de cumplir. A nosotros se nos puede plantear, más bien, el vivir al margen de Dios, sin las dificultades que conlleva el cumplimiento de los mandamientos. Una sincera reflexión nos llevará a tomar el camino correcto.
La segunda lectura, de San Pablo a los Efesios, nos ha invitado a ser servidores los unos de los otros. Y lo ha hecho a través de esa imagen del marido y de la mujer que están llamados a formar un solo cuerpo. El amor que nos debemos los unos a los otros hará de nosotros una sola familia, un solo pueblo, una sola Iglesia.
El relato del evangelio de Juan sobre el pan de vida, que hemos escuchado durante varios domingos, termina con la incomprensión de muchos que no acaban de entender el misterio de la eucaristía, eso de comer su cuerpo y beber su sangre. Y abandonan a Jesús. Es entonces cuando Él se vuelve a los suyos y les hace una pregunta que resuena hoy igualmente en nuestros oídos: “¿También vosotros queréis marcharos?”
