HOMILÍA
Esta semana pasada ha estado llena de celebraciones de santos muy conocidos y venerados por todos nosotros: San Pio X, nuestra Madre María, a quien hemos considerado como Reina; santa Rosa de Lima, el apóstol San Bartolomé; san José de Calasanz, fundador de los Escolapios y santa Teresa de Jesús Jornet e Ibars, fundadora de la Hermanitas de los Ancianos Desamparados. Los santos y la Virgen, nuestra Madre, son como guías en el camino de la vida. Todos ellos meditaron en los textos bíblicos que hemos escuchado.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del profeta Isaías. Nos cuenta el episodio de un mayordomo de palacio que es destituido de su cargo por mala administración y cómo se le encomienda a otro esa tarea. Como signo visible, se le entrega unas llaves para que pueda abrir y cerrar; es decir, para que pueda administrar con justicia. También a todos y cada uno de nosotros el Señor nos nombra administradores y un día deberemos dar cuentas ante él. No le defraudemos.
La segunda lectura, de San Pablo a los Romanos, ha hecho una alabanza de ese Dios cuya riqueza, sabiduría y conocimiento no tienen fin. Son insondables sus decisiones e irrastreables sus caminos. Nadie le dio algo que él no tuviera ya. Todo nos viene de él… y por él y para él existe todo. Él es digno de la gloria que le tributamos.
El relato del evangelio de San Mateo ha contemplado una doble pregunta que Jesús hizo a sus apóstoles y que hoy nos hace a nosotros: ¿Quién dice la gente que soy yo y quien decís vosotros que soy? De la boca de Pedro salió la respuesta: “Tú eres el Mesías, el Hijo de Dios vivo.” Él recibirá de Jesús una promesa: “Tú eres Pedro y sobre esta piedra edificaré mi Iglesia.” A él y a sus sucesores, los Papas, les encargará la misión de presidir en el amor a la familia cristiana. Oremos por todos.
