HOMILÍA
En este tiempo veraniego, en el que todavía nos encontramos, hemos vuelto a escuchar la Palabra de un Dios que nos quiere. La primera lectura la hemos tomado del libro del Profeta Isaías. Nos ha contado el caso de un misterioso personaje llamado Sobna, una especie de primer ministro, mayordomo de palacio del rey Ezequias de Judá en el siglo VIII antes de Jesús. Un día, de pronto, es destituido y reemplazado por Eliacín. Como uno de los atributos de su cargo, el nuevo responsable, recibe unas llaves. Disponer de las llaves, en aquella cultura, simbolizaba el poder de abrir y de cerrar; es decir, el poder de consentir o rechazar la entrada en el palacio, lo que implicaba el acceso al rey. Este texto de la antigüedad está relacionado con el evangelio de hoy en el que hemos podido ver a Jesús depositando en las manos de Pedro unas llaves para indicarle, de este modo, su voluntad de que presidiera la Iglesia cuando Él dejara de estar visiblemente presente.
Pero el texto encierra también otras interpretaciones. Todos hemos recibido un encargo, una tarea a desarrollar, debemos hacer fructificar unos talentos, ejercer una profesión o un oficio, tenemos responsabilidades familiares o de gobierno. Todos, de una forma u otra, hemos recibido unas llaves, un poder. ¿Cómo lo estamos ejerciendo? A veces, podemos pensar que nos portamos bien porque no robarnos, no matamos, no hacemos daño a nadie. Pero, quizás, no caemos en la cuenta de la necesidad de revisar cómo estamos ejerciendo ese poder y esa responsabilidad que tenemos entre manos. Sobna, ese mayordomo de Palacio, del que nos hablaba esta primera lectura, fue destituido porque no cumplía bien la tarea encomendada. También a nosotros el Señor nos pide cuentas y es bueno que cada uno, por la parte que le toca, examine su conciencia y trate de cumplir con seriedad sus obligaciones personales, familiares y profesionales.
El relato evangélico lo hemos tomado de San Mateo. Es un texto muy conocido que, seguramente, hemos escuchado muchas veces y que, incluso, nos sabemos de memoria. ¿Para qué, pues, escucharlo otra vez? Es bueno volver a oírlo porque todos necesitamos, de vez en cuando, renovar nuestra adhesión personal y comunitaria a Jesús y a su evangelio. También, preguntarnos, muchas veces, quién es Él para nosotros, qué importancia damos a sus palabras, hasta qué punto el amor es una norma de vida. A la luz de este texto, debemos interrogarnos, además, sobre cómo vivimos nuestra pertenencia a la Iglesia, hasta qué punto sentimos que formamos parte de una comunidad cristiana o si vivimos la idea de comunión con los que, en esa comunidad, tienen el encargo y la responsabilidad de presidirla.
Encontremos tiempo para reflexionar sobre la persona de Jesús. Tratemos de responder con sinceridad a su pregunta “¿Quién decís vosotros, quién dices tú que soy yo?” Y si consideramos que Él es para nosotros ese Alguien por el cual merece la pena vivir y luchar, trabajar y amar, seamos consecuentes y comprometámonos a una vivencia más auténtica, más fiel del evangelio. Y, junto al compromiso, la oración. La plegaria por quienes tienen la misión y el encargo de presidir las distintas comunidades cristianas para que, su necesaria autoridad, sea siempre ejercida al estilo de Jesús, como un servicio a todos.
